I have begun to get a rattle up in the moonroof when its closed. I kept hearing a rattle but couldn't tell where it was coming from until I finally put my ear up around the moonroof area. I've checked all the visible screws and plastic guards both opened and closed. I can't find the problem. Anyone had something like this? It is a fairly distinct sound of something loose, and it didn't used to be there. I have noticed that I can push up on the moonroof, and it does move around a quarter to a half an inch up and down. Is this normal? I've silicone sprayed the gasket around the moonroof but everything is still the same with the rattle.

It was very common for the moon roof to rattle in earlier 4th gen models (like the 2003 & 2004) but that should have been addressed for yours. Do a search. There is plenty of info on this.
Like the other member stated do a search this has been covered. I had the same issue with my 2000 and 2003...Go to Lowes or Home Depot buy two (here's where the search comes in) cannot remember the size of plastic washers, cut out about a third of the washer and slip over the moon roof rail towards the midde to the back of the truck...should cure the problem. But do the search for the specifics and you'll be happy (I hope), CSM-H
