More health issues......

OK as many of you have known I went through 3 years of bladder malfunction. Went for my last check up and got the all clear , looks good from the DR.

After he was done feeling me up and checking everything , he says I need to go see a different surgeon , my head hung down thinking NOW WHAT.... I have a fricken hernia !!! It was causing me discomfort,but I thought it was just my bladder healing up.....NOT SO !!

Here we go again for another surgery..... not to mention what I'm gonna have to do with my back arthritis .

CRAP !! I am a healthy guy and all this crap is getting old ! Oh well we'll kicker in the but and Get-R-Done.

I was also told no driving for about 5 weeks..... 5 weeks with no T4R ..... unacceptable !! That also means no drumming ...... also VERY unacceptable.

Oh well 44 y/o and ????? it could be much worse and still count my blessings.

Five weeks with no driving, wow.. that's gonna be hard.

I have lower back pains sometimes, and my ankle acts up every now and then. A good number of sports injuries have done a toll on my body. And I'm 21, it's always weird when some part of my body just starts hurting or is sore. It's usually my lower back or my left ankle.

Oh well, it could be worse.

im 19 on saturday, and i have 1) Chondro Malacia 2) Osteochondritis 3) Arthritis. All in my knees.

My back problems & hip , ect..... are the results of being a reckless young buck .... lol.

I have a lot of arthritis ect .... from these wonderful escapades . I was in a terrible snowmobile accident back in 1990 and I will feel it for the rest of my life.

Anyway the hernia will be no big deal I just dont want to be layed up. We'll see what the surgeon tells me.

No driving , No drums , will drive me crazy.

Actually, this does bring up a point...Falls, i would really revisit the usefulness of your 4runner after all these surgeries and back issues. 4runner is relatively easy to get into and out of for a body-on-frame SUV, but it is still difficult for people with bad back. I have a colleague that had to give up his Corvette for a crossover SUV because of this. I certainly hope that you will keep the 4runner, but your health comes 1st.

"Uneventful" is the best kind of surgery to have.

I will not give up the 4R ! Actually I'm 6'2" and its easy for me to get in & out without a problem. I've been working on some cruches for my back and it seems to be helping a lot , once in a while a little flare up , but ok without meds.

I (unlike some others) find my 4R comfortable to drive and think the seats are great.

I even do a lot of off roading in it and handle it fine most of the time.

Fortunately, your ailments have a diagnosis and some can be repaired, others managed through a variety of means. What is most important, is how you weather the storm. Stay positive. Remember, its not just what happens to us but how we react to it that makes the difference. The same way you approached life as a youth can be used to get you through the tough times. I injured my back doing deadlifts at the gym 3 weeks ago but I'm still training through it, just taking extra precautions while I heal.

I know...why don't you ask the doctor to do a vasectomy while he's down there...hell, it's in the same vicinity! 2 for the price of 1!! Or if he's feeling lucky, he can do orchiectomy too...that will make you cry like a little girl afterwards!

There is actually some new data reported, Falls, that suggests if the hernia is not causing you pain and discomfort it may be actually better to have careful observation than excision. The data from study suggested more pain/complications from fibrosis and scar tissue formation status post surgery than was experienced from an otherwise asymptomatic hernia.....

Just some more info to arm yourself with before seeing the surgeon. But they are surgeons for a reason.... They like to cut!
