Most desireable 1st Gen Color?

In your opinion, what is the most desireable color for the 1st generation 4Runner?

I have a rust free gray on gray right now, but I'm partial to the Gold Metallic.

Also, is the first gen paint single stage?

I expect white to be a popular answer. My 4th gen is white, so I certainly have nothing against it.

I don't know where you're located, but around here you just try to find one that is halfway solid and take whatever color you get!

In my opinion, when it comes to a 1st gen there is no bad color.

Wish I could tell what color mine is! Lol. It could be silver or blue, but it's hard to tell. The interior is blue though

Mine was brown originally. Now its white, done by the po. Needs tobe done again and Id love to get some stripes for it.

Alot is going to depend on if you paint it yourself, or have someone do it for you...meaning, if you change color, think of the door jambs and under hood, firewall, etc., Paying someone to do all that is rather expensive...I would charge 3 to 4 thousand to do a complete paint job...all (or most) of the interior comes out, body gets lifted or engine comes out to get at the firewall, tons of prep (and that's with little body work)...most of the money is in labor. If you do it yourself, it's only time and material.
I used "Black Rose" on mine (changed from maroon)...94 Corvette color, did the work myself, and still have almost a thousand in the whole job (sandpaper, primer, hardeners, reducers, etc.). If you keep it the same color...no jambs, leave the hood shut, and do less work...just my 2.5 cents worth. I see people who start the job, don't think it through, get half way through it, and realize their in over their head...
'course, you could always rattle can it flat black?

I dont plan on doing it any time soon. The door jambs and tailgate were all done, but didnt do under the hood. Its been on there for a while, because the bondo on the hood is starting to crack. I probably wont ever re do it. Haha.
