Mounting aftermarket driving/fog lights...

Well, Ive recently gotten the LIGHTING bug, so im jonesing for some added lights on the front.
It is imortant to know that I dont care for/plan on keeping my stock bumper FOR EVER....it'll be SW someday....that being said I WOULD NOT mind drilling holes into the top of the bumper to mount lights, but I just dont know if its a good idea.
I really like the lightforce 240 blitz... so far thats my first choice. but their site says this "High mount only with stainless steel hardware.".....which makes me curious

Im just curious about how you guys think that mounting on top of the stock bumper would work, would it vibrate too much? Ive been searching the forums.....hmm

I did it...once you make the first cut...it's an easy project. Not too much vibration. Although I only installed Hella 500's. Don't know how the bigger Light Forces will do. You can check out Iron Clad Lou's instructions...he is who I copied. Good luck...more light is always better! (10 forward facing lights and counting!)

I get some vibrations with my Hella 500's...you may wanna ask Colemanfu what he did..he has lightforces mounted to his bumper...not sure if used and reinforcement or not...

I was told that the LFs may too big to enable the hood to open/close but if colemanfu has done it maybe its possible? hmm thanks again!

I work over by Riddle. Let me know if you want to check out my set up. I put them directly on the bumper.

I also run 2 side lights off the frame and a back up light. Electrical stuff comes pretty easy for me.

I put these LF's on back in early 04. Yet to have an issue.

I was thinking about adding a 3rd in the center - I like that look and it would throw some mad light. You should go for 3.

I used the blanks for the switch. The inner on is for the front lights and the outside for the side lights on the frame. Got the switch from Raido Shack - they light up red when on.
The back up switch is in the blank lower left of the dash.

dude thats exactly what im looking for. I hate to bite your style, especially since we live in the same town! maybe ill go with clear lenses to be different, tho I like the yellows!
Yeah, Id def like to meet up and check out your ride & lights.
So you dont have issues with vibrations, like the light beam flickering when on the trail? Im curious as the setup looks great!

I have the clears as well - only put on the yellow during bad weather. No worries - there are a few here that put the lights directly on the bumper like I did. I like sharing ideas but.....Step up your game and run 3 across the front.

A second battery isnt necessary, although one better than stock might be good (optima?)

id say at that price, too good to be true....or worthy.

I think itd be better to stick to brands that are tried and true, not saying those arent any good...... just m 0.02

Hmm, i just stumbled accross these IPF 900 xd 'extreme" driving light

They are a bit shallower than the LF170s and a bit taller, which might be a good combination? just exploring options....

still need to find a price on the LF170s (edit: $220 double edit: +$50 for wiring harness=$270) & IPF ($255)

I like the fact that the LF's are adjustable kind of like a maglite...
Id like to know the candlepower of the IPFs....
