Well guys, many of you know Roxy, my blue 1994 4Runner and how she was totaled. Well I had another 1990 red 4Runner like FOG's, but a kid offered me $5500 for it as a good family friend, so I sold it to him and bought a 1997 4Runner with factory e-locker, also red, for $5500 as a steal. It's in perfect condition inside and out. It has the 3.4L with 233k on the clock (literally the only downside) I'd post pictures but the only one's i have show upside down... ill post them anyways though.
One bad thing: the rims. I don't like them one bit lol

Yeah that 3.4L going over the pass back to school, just absolutely is awesome. No lag going up hill or 3rd gear uphill like my 3.slow haha, that 3.4 even in 5th with a little gas would just get up and go with it. So nice! Yeah the factory locker was a real plus when I bought it, can't wait to try it out on the trails. I guess you can only use it in 4-Lo though, unless you cut a few wires:naughty:
Many mods to come on Ruby though

try going from a 2010 fj cruiser with the new dual vvti 4.0 engine to a 3.slow.
hahahah
My DD has plenty of pep though. 4runner just serves weekend duty

look into the grey wire mod and the deck plate mod for your runner :first:

yup already heard and read up on the grey wire mod, is it useful to have the option whenever to drop it in?

Deck plate mod?

Oh yeah my clock is missing too :( kinda bummed about it haha

Bonus though, it already has an aftermarket radio with an Aux in!! (phone time finally!!)

Nice. We just picked up a '99 for my wife, I've wheeled it a couple times now and like the elocker so much I may just have to have one for my '85.

good thing I'm on a phone... though I forgot to flip it back and scrolled down, which actually scrolled up.

Also... WHAT THE **** lol how the hell did you get $5k out of a 90? lol. I've been wanting to trade up to a 3rd but they say mine is worth maybe 3k. private sale I guess. or 3.4 swap.

looks good anyway

the engine had 150,xxx on not a tick, knock, shimmer, or anything. Seriously it looked like it wasn't even running. I did the T-belt, all other belts, water pump, valve/intake gaskets, full tune up, brand new toyo a/t on it, and everything works electrically. And it was a 5-speed too with a new clutch that I put in.

And i did talk the guy i bought my 3rd gen from down from 6400 to 5500 :thumb:

3.4 + sac....
best of all three worlds do it! lol

solid axle... cruiser? SAC fail.

Interesting though.... mine is a rebuilt engine (kinda) new belts and all the fun stuff you mentioned. new clutch. super clean. HMM. lol.

I admit though, never been a fan of that color toyota. It's a weird red to me.

I didn't see it mentioned, but auto or manual? that's my other drawback... of 44 for sale, 4 are manual.

Solid axle conversion...
Was talking to you though. 1st gen front axle/second gen looks/3rd gen engine. Best of all three worlds.

SAC= Solid Axle Conversion

Edit: Jonny beat me to it

5-speed manual trans with the 3.4L and factory locker. It's in my sig haha, It's not the color I really wanted, but it's the only thing that i didn't like, everything else was perfect on this thing. Also for the one I sold the 1990 had the grey interior and it was perfect, I kid you not. No scratches or rips, even the drivers seat was clean and fresh.

EDIT: yeah i've been looking for about a month, it's hard to find a manual trans with the car in half way decent shape
