moving from 17 inch wheels

if your moving from a stock 17inch wheel is there a calculator or way to figure out if your going to need spacers if you go to an 18inch wheel.

Not sure what spacers you are referring to wheel or suspension but either way wheel diameter alone is not enough to calculate anything

What I was trying to figure out is if I go to an 18x9 wheel what backs pacing and offset I would need if didn't want to get wheel spacers.
