MPG stock '12 TE

Just a little feedback for anyone interested.

I hand calculated my mileage on my runner and it turned out a little better than the dashboard indicator display said I had been getting.

In all city driving, no 4WD, and in these Spring-like waning days of Winter, I got 17.6 MPG.

I think that's pretty good for a vehicle this size.

In all city driving? Heck yeah! 13.3L/100km is not bad at all. I don't get that in my Wrangler. City would be closer to 15MPG. Overall I'm around 16MPG right now with very very little highway driving and mostly subrurban/city.

Yeah in my SR5 I am at 16.8 after driving a little harder than normal and on crap winter gas. I was around 17.6 last fall, and will be interested to see what it does on better gas and warmer weather.

Pretty much the same here for 50/50 city highway, but for temperatures below freezing most of the time.

I'm getting 18.8 mpg after only 300 miles driven on my stock new TE so far. After I upgrade the tires, I expect that to go down by 1-2 mpg.

Well, during winter (canada) I was getting 16 MPG... mixed city and highway doing 63MPH (100 KM/H) on highway...

Milage

With 50+K miles, I get an average of 18 with 17 suburbia city driving, and around 19 on the highway. Speed is a big factor on the highway milage for me. Running Blizzak tires at this time. Milage was slightly better with the stock tires.

I timed my drive in traffic with several hundred (it felt like it) traffic lights. I actually sat still for more minutes than I drove. So, city mileage is going to be lousy.

My 12 LE with stock pizza cutters gets 21MPG on a 16 mile freeway stretch to work everyday, it dropped to 19 last month so I changed out my air filter and put on a zombie sticker and now it's back up to low 20's

I did not reset my average button from June of 12 to January of 13 and it settled in at 20.4.

Since January until now (March) it is fluctuating between 20.7 and 20.6 mpg.
Probably due to not using the AC as much and the engine loosing up as it breaks in.

I now have just under 35k miles on my 12 TE, mostly highway with some city driving. I would estimate about 85% highway 65+ mph but rarely over 80mph and 15% city and stop and go traffic.

When I did reset the average I checked the math on the first couple fill ups and found it to be pretty close with the actual mpg to be a little better than indicated.

I am getting about 2 full mpg better than my former vehicle (04 Grand Cherokee 4.7HO) thus at an average 200 miles per work day I am using about 2 gallons less per day, that is 10 gallons per week, 40 gallons per month less, at the current $4.00 per gallon that is $160.00 less per month on gas than if I still drove the Jeep. Not counting the fact that the Jeep used premium that is now well over $4.00 per gallon.

Of course my employer pays for the gas so I am saving the company money, not so much my own.

stock 2012 4runner sr5 4x2, I am getting about 18-19mpg on a small island in Honolulu, Hawaii... next week im trading in my 2012 for a 2013 4runner sr5 4x4 model and hope I get the same gas mileage...

My 2011 Trail Edition is bone stock at the moment and on the highway I can get 22-23 IF I can keep it just under 2K RPM's which is about 68 mph.

Also, I can average 23mpg mixed driving when I fill up with a non ethanol gas. Makes a HUGE difference in these 4Runners

I get about 14 on my drive to and from work and I baby it.

Disclaimer: I go through a max of two lights and round trip its about 4 miles... yes I do ride my bike but not when it's 5 degrees like it is today.




Should also add: I took a trip from Denver to Aspen last weekend and got 22mpg on the way there and 23 on the way back going 75mph. Those are hand calculated and the computer matched my calcs pretty well.

Will be filling up my first tank tonight or tmrw morning after close to 500km. Computer is reading 14.6L/14.7L per 100km or around 16.1MPG in mostly city driving and very short highway stints (5km) and hills. A bit of extra idling in there too. Only 720km on the engine so I also expect it to improve on that basis alone.

My 2013 Limited (2" lift, 285 tires) got 15 mpg over the first 2,000 miles, with a combination of probably 2/3 city and 1/3 hwy. I have gotten as bad as 13mpg for a full tank if its all-in town driving. I'm not particularly hard on the gas petal.

It hasn't gotten significantly better after a couple thousand more miles, its right in that 15mpg overall range.
