mpg while driving

Iv'e owned my 2017 limited 4Runner for 6 months now. Is it possible to change millage to read average or actual mpg.
If it can, I cant figure it out. Is it in manual, Please help.

When it shows the digital readout, that's the average. You can reset it by holding the mode button. Below that is the bar, which shows current MPG.

It will not read current (just for a few seconds while you reset it) at the digital and it won't read average using the bar.
