not sure whats going on but I've had my '14 SR5 4x4 for over two months now and I'm only getting 16.5 - 16.6 on average. I was expecting to average at least mid 17s but not even close. My driving is a mix of predominantly HWY and some City. My previous vehicle was an '06 Acura MDX and i got 17.8MPG on average with premium gas and 16.3MPG on average with regular gas. Any suggestions?

That is about what I'm getting currently. I was averaging about 17.8 in the warmer weather, but with the winter gas mix and the cold temperatures we've been having in NJ, it's gone down to what you are seeing.

i was getting about 17 mpg prior to my lift/tires/and gobi stealth.
now im getting about 14.7....not great by any means. but hey...it looks awesome!!:thumb:

Yeah i was getting 21 stock, gobi knocked it down to 20.5, duratracs brought it down to 19.6. Then again, I drive 80 miles to work every day on highway so not a lot of stop and go.
What app is that? I have been tracing mine on my laptop but it would be a lot easier to do it at the station on my phone...

It's the road trip app, the one you pay for. I've used it once for my BMW last week but since day one with the 4runner.
I have all cost including the cost of the 4Runner, lift, tires, services, and fuel.
All in all it's cost me $1.12 a mile. Should go down as the miles add up.

You've only ever driven it in winter months on winter gas then. Not to mention it has also been incredibly cold all over North America this winter. Starting in early Nov, my consumption has increased 15-20%. I would keep tabs on every tank and compare as the temps warm up and the summer gas comes back. Even on winter days above freezing I observe a very noticeable improvement in consumption.
In the summer/fall months I consistently got in the 17s mpg on day-to-day. Now I'm in the high 14s on bad days and generally 15s in the winter.

Stock 2014 on my 50/50 highway/city commute I get 17.8
I am generally mellow on the gas pedal. Next week it'll go down some with a small lift in front, 265/R70/7 AT tires and a rack. Still hoping to hit 17 though, but maybe not...

the 06 MDx and your '14 4runner are rated about the same on fueleconomy.org (1MPG difference average). The cause is probably this, you have got your '14 since the last two, coldest, months on the year, and you compare to what you got before getting your '14, while is was warmer outside. I'd say wait for the summer to record your MPG, your break-in will be more advanced, and the temperatures will let you a chance to get a reasonable MPG.
To NoDak: I love those threads. Bring em'. those who don't, just get past over it please. How hard is not to click on the thread title? Where I live, gas is 6.00$/Gallon (montreal), so it's pretty normal to review the MPG of the truck times to times since it's such an expense.
