So I wanted to add more lights to my 4Runner, and decided on getting some sort of a spot light to fill in the space ahead of me where my high beams attempt to shine, but can't... I already had a 37" AVEC light bar that does a great job for flood type of lighting and lighting up everything that's relatively close to the front of the truck, but for high speed stuff I still wanted something that would shine a little further. I was initially looking at Rigid Hyperspots, and then I found out about these MRT lights. These are basically clones of the Vision X Cannons. And all I can say about them is that they are amazing lights, especially for the price.
They're less than half as much as the Vision X lights, and shine just as far. According to Chas(he makes these lights), [MENTION=120150]TotalAutomotiveLV[/MENTION], they are rated to shine 900 feet and the Vision X lights are rated to shine 1000 feet. When I was testing these lights I parked in a very large empty parking lot here and turned the spot lights on. I was able to light up trees on the other side of the parking lot, they were at the very end of the beam. I then measured the distance the lights were shining to illuminate these trees. It was .2 miles, or about 1050 feet!!! These lights were also picking up reflections off of street signs over a mile away! They're crazy bright.
They almost make my light bar useless. They shine much much farther and have almost as much width. I really like the color temperature of these lights too. It's more of a 4300k or 5000k light versus the 6000k light bar. The testing that they put the lights through is pretty awesome too. I'll let Chas post more about that if he wants. I don't know all the details, but it involves a lot of deep submersion of the lights in water, freezing them, all kinds of torture testing. I have no worries about having issues with these lights, and even if I would, they have a 3 year warranty.
Installing the lights is pretty simple. The brackets I used to mount them are the CBI ditch light brackets which are a quality product and very sturdy. Installing them isn't hard at all, just follow the directions on their site. Then to install the lights you just bolt them onto the brackets, run the harness, mount the relay and fuse, tuck the wires until you are happy with it and install the switch. I chose to cut off the switch that came on the harness and install an OEM Toyota switch to match the switch for my light bar. This was very simple to do. The only issue with install was the harness was just a tad short to reach all the way across from light to light so I had to extend it a bit, but I talked to Chas about this already and he said it will be revised for future harnesses, it really wasn't a big issue for me though. Just a bit of scrap wire and solder fixed it right up. Depending on your antenna it may touch the light. I have the Tacoma whip antenna mod and mine just barely touched. I put a little vacuum line over the antenna to keep them from rubbing and it's been fine. The antenna doesn't make a shadow or cause any issues with the light.
There are a bunch of different covers available for these lights as well. I have the clear and amber diffused ones. These just basically turn the spot light into more of a flood light. I run mine without the covers 99% of the time.
With the set up of lights on my truck now it's awesome. I have no issues seeing anything out on the trails at night, unless I'm backing up that is... The lights are incredibly blinding. I walked 300+ feet away from the truck and turned around and it was painful to look at so please don't drive with these on when there is other traffic around.
I would highly recommend these lights. Here's a bunch of pictures I took a few days ago of the lights. I'll label them as to what is on at what time.

I don't know how far the lights are shinning in this pic, but that bit of woods is pretty far away. The parking lot ends at about 250 feet, then there's a creek and 2 baseball fields so it's a good bit away.
