Mud guard ?

No, these mudguards use the stock holes (US and Canadian are the same) but they have added (some) new screws to hold them on. I don't know how many could be only 1 or 2, but I am considering using 3m tape instead if possible - only where the new hole would be drilled.

So. most of the mounting points are already there. Look at the pics...the front one at the top has a new screw added. That might be the only one and you could put the 3m tape there if you don't want to drill.

The only concern is the US OEM running board which needs to be adjusted.

Should have more info later today...

The flaps will fit with the running boards however the front flaps will bend a little forward where they hit the running boards. If your OK with that fine but I decided to cut my running boards for a nicer fit. It was no problem to cut,I just removed the boards then removed 1 end cap from each running board and used a hand held jig saw to remove about 1.500" off the end (It's aluminum and cuts very easy) of each board,then put the 2 caps back on and reinstalled.

That is a good option, but I have the regular US Toyota OEM boards, are they the same as the Southeast ones?

I appreciate the info! If what you say works, with the 3M trim tape, its a great option. I really would love to avoid drilling too many (if any) holes.
 
Got them, they include 2 bags of various screws and clips which replace the plastic push on ones on there now. There are no instructions so I'll have to sort out all the hardware but it looks like the only new hole is the one at the top of the front mudguard, it looks like all the other points are OEM. I prefer not to drill holes so I'll pick up some 3m tape for the top of the mudguard, there are so many mounting points that it may not be needed. The US running board is in the way, so I'll have to figure that out. They say "made in Canada" on them.


I am not familiar with the Husky ones, so I don't know if there is a real difference...

It may take a few days to get them mounted dealing with the running board.

Those are not the right parts..

Those are called mudguards and look correct on the parts diagram but they are the insert inside the fender well and do not stick out at all..

I am confused as these are claimed to be the OEM boards but they have a completely different end cap from mine, (these are from a Southeast forum member)..:shrug::shrug::shrug:

This may be why some claim that the mudflaps fit with the OEM boards and others claim they don't. There seems to be different end caps.

Toyota OEM Canadian mudguards (part # PU06089100P) on my US 4runner Limited with US running boards :banana:

OK, got them on, for the running boards all you need to do is loosen the 6 bolts underneath and slide it back a bit, put the front mudguards on then slide the boards back close to the mudguard and tighten in place, super simple.

The rears use all stock mounts, no drilling, but the large plastic pushpin underneath is a bit tough to get out then back in through the hole in the mudguard. Replace 3 pushpins with 3 screws and clips each side, use the large plastic pushpin underneath.

The fronts need 1 hole drilled at the top and 1 hole underneath.
Replace 1 pushpin with a screw and clip and add 2 screws (drill very small hole), use 1 stock screw.

No good pics yet as I did it in the garage...

Are these better then the Husky ones.. No idea...
 
I think we need a side-by-side comparison between the Husky's and the OEM Canadian mud flaps. Full on 360 and everything. Who's got access to both?

With all of the crappy weather we've been having theres mud all over everything, and I really need a set of mud guards. I've got some aftermarket ones ready to put on but would rather have OEM.

Some pics of the Toyota OEM Canadian Mudflapguardthingyroos on a US Limited with US running boards - not the southeast ones. It is dark and raining so the pics are a little dark.

These mudguards seem to have a slight taper \ / vs the Huskys ( ) bulge. They also have a subtle profile while the Huskys have a flatter profiled outer edge.

The running boards are not touching the mudguards...

It's nice....but I prefer the Husky's look, protection (it's longer) and cost (cheaper).

Yes, I think the Huskys are slightly bigger and of course cheaper, but I hate mudguards and these are subtle enough to blend away and not detract from the truck. They don't stand out as much as the Husky ones. I really like the look but OEM is always more $$. I bet if they sold them in the US they would be $90 instead of $140 here in Canada.
 
So where and how does one buy the Canadian OEM mud guards?

ETA: How crazy is it that the 2nd year of the 5th gen we still need to go on a scavenger hunt for mud guards. Really?

Tough one, there are different options and costs depending on your location (proximity to Canadian border)

TRY.. In order of cheapest

Call Toyota USA customer service line and beg them to stock these (Canadian part # PU06089100P) they are made in Canada (unlikely but never know, get 20 people to call them everyday...)

Call a US Toyota dealer and see if they would bring some in independent of Toyota (again unlikely)

Order them from a Canadian Dealer, drive over and pick them up (only good if you live close)

Get a Canadian to pick them up and ship them to you (incur shipping cost, the closer the cheaper ie West coast vs East coast)

Find a Canadian Toyota Dealer that will ship to the US (most expensive and you need to find the closest to you) East coast call Toronto area dealers


I asked three Canadian dealers here on the West Coast and none would ship to the US, there must be some, perhaps back East that would. The shipping costs from Canada may make them too expensive.

They are $142.00 Canadian taxes in... Would be a little cheaper from Alberta as they have lower taxes.

The cheapest shipping from Canada is by Canada Post ground... passes to USPS

Just checked Expedited Parcel (Canada Post) from Vancouver BC to Florida is $48.00

Try 24 x 24 x 6 inches 2 lbs

I contacted a few Canadian Toyota Dealers to see if they will sell / ship to the US. Will post if any does.

Careful on the shipping method could be as high as $250.00,

I am trying to figure out if I can help you guys somehow, but I am not familiar with the cheapest way for goods going to the the US...

If anybody knows the logistics,,, I live right on the border and can ship from US side ($20) but ??? Customs.. no duty as they are made in Canada

Can UPS ship where the receiver pays shipping from US within the US?
