Muffler Size

Hey Guys,
I want to get my Exhaust done but I dont want to pay 800 bucks for a prefabbed Cat back system. What size muffler do I need to get so I can have it custom made? Anyone like a particualar brand also? I read the threads saying Flowmaster hasn't really given performance gains. Magnaflow? Borla? Gibson? Anyone?

Personally if I'd have to go with an aftermarket exhaust that isn't a bolt on system, I'd get the Borla! I've also read that alot of ppl like the flowmaster too but I think I'd go w/ the Borla.

As for size, just get whatever size that fits under your belly Just make sure that the piping is either the same size or abit bigger so you don't lose too much pressure on it's way out the exhaust. Look into some dual pipe setup too if you like that look. I've seen some setup where the pipes came out the rear, behind the rear tire and a new setup that I've yet to see is the "in front of the rear tire".
