Why do members seem to answer questions with unnecessarily rude responses? these responses come of very rude and sarcastic! if someone asks a question that seems :dumb" or "stupid" just give a nice response! i find this website extremely helpful, but have contemplated leaving because of the rude responses that happen day in and out! Let's clean it up?

It's not that the question is dumb or stupid. It's because it's been answered many times before. Answer to that is SEARCH. This happens many forums.
I was hoping that somebody would answer with that type of response, because i get it, totally that they have been answered before but sometimes people have specific questions and feel that not all threads answer all questions. the reason for this is because all situations vary soo much! i appreciate the response though [MENTION=6221]WHORERUNNER[/MENTION]!

Most of our problems with our trucks are common. But sometimes some people experience a similar problem with a twist and they do have a valid reason to ask. I don't mind answering a question even though it's been answered numerous times. We all have been there (NOOBS) when we first joined this or another forum.

I have owned 4 vehicles and never wanted knowledge of why a vehicle works the way it does. Once I got my 4runner, that still did not change, it was this forum that made me want more and more and more knowledge. It is this community that helped me gain information. I suppose i just had enough and wish we ALL could be more understanding that we are not all on the same level BUT we all started at the same level (noob)!

How much time have you spent on the internet? Because this is one of the most patient and polite forums out there. I highly suggest you look around.
My opinion is people go out of there way to be polite despite the endless "why am I not getting 25 MPG threads" that appear several times a week.

Everybody had to learn to walk before they could run. I don't mind posting to threads that have been answered before but the search function can answer a lot of newbie questions. Besides my 2001 4runner being the best vehicle I have ever owned, this forum has been soooooooo helpful to me; pretty much anything that has been or could be done to these awesome vehicles will be found on this site. It is really cool how total strangers that are miles apart are brought together by an automobile:biggrin1:

Also, you seem to be missing the perspective from the other side. To the new guy people may seem rude when they say "search." But what about to the guys who have spent hours doing all the hard work of collecting this information and putting it on here for others to read. I think it is rude to expect them to spoon feed it to the new guy each time one comes along. These guys spend hours of work and these people won't spend 15 min to search before asking a question... who is more rude here?
I think it is a give and take. Newbies need to get the "search" responses so they learn proper forum etiquette and how to search out answers to general questions. It happened to me and I learned a lot in the process. And in return, seasoned members need to reply to the one off questions if they have the knowledge. I have seen a lot of threads on here where a newbie says "I searched, found these threads, but still need help" in which case many people respond with positive answers and help...
Moral of the story, newbies need to be polite too, and expecting us to spoon feed the answers is rude too. I always research before I ask a question, it's just polite to do and shows that I am willing to do the work too.... Just my 2 cents...

It also helps to use proper spelling and grammar. Most "rude" responses come from threads with questions or vague problems that look something like this:
"my truck makes noise when i hit the gas but only like 5mph kind of its hard to describe its like a clunk but has a whine to it" …. and thats it.
or:
"I've searched and searched and can't find answer i hav 256x65/16 and i wanna put 265/70/16 and want to no if i will rub"
most of these threads like this somehow end up with 2 pages of responses trying to help the person, which is great and shows people on this forum want to help regardless.
Yet, just about every time, I can copy/paste their thread title into google and the answer is right there on the screen in the brief description without even clicking on a single link.
I think there was a thread recently about a guy who paid a shop to install a basic spacer lift, and then went back complaining to them it didn't sit the way he wanted it to. It's a frigging spacer lift, I don't know of any adjustable spacer lift lol.

If you want a mom to cuddle or coddle you then go somewhere else.
This is forum is populated by men and the most you should really expect from us is respectful conversation.
Sometimes that will include comments like "did you search? Here is how to search"
With that said, in my opinion people are pretty respectful here.

Personally, i dont mind how somebody responds to me, but quite often i just see snide comments saying to go to the search. I am quite new and when i made my first post, i was not aware of the search option yet.

Toyo, this is all about perspective. Having read now how you are new, and new to the internet, your view is very understandable. Those of us who have been around other forums, specifically Pirate, are very aware this REALLY is the most polite forum there is. But yes we all lose patience from time to time.
I'm almost 52 and I've been on at least 8 other forums. I like this one best, and I've called out many posters about their "lack of tact" in addressing questions. But I've not had to do that on this forum.
Welcome and enjoy your time here, we all do.

That's the number one reason why I do not reply to the continuous stream of FAQ threads.
Between my builds and write-ups, and the follow up responses from other members within those write-ups, a good portion of the FAQ's posted each day are effectively answered.
However, the people who are willing to take on those questions again and again are abundant on this forum. In due time, they'll become the guys saying "Search!", while the next generation of members are driving up their post counts and "proving themselves" by jumping right on top of the FAQ's. It's the never ending story of every forum I've ever joined. The fact that there is a lot of turnover on this forum pretty much ensures that there will always be helpful "eager beavers" making this a pleasant place for a new guy to post questions without searching first.
