Correct. I got the one as recommended in the 3rd Gen Buyers guide.

With 4runners, you can't just buy any plug that "fits". The only plugs that work on the 3.4L v6 engines are Dual ground plugs.

You will want the NGK BKR5EKB-11, the OEM Toyota #90919-01192 Made by Denso, or the Denso #K16TR11. These are the only ones that will work properly.

Thank you. Patience and persistence pays off! Although, I was not looking to buy... sort of just fell into my lap. Lol will not be selling anytime soon!

I just checked amazon and they have the cooler for 59 shipped. May just pull the trigger on that too.

Yep! Or else I would be replacing the radiator with a Koyo A1998. The way I look at it is that it's essentially cheap insurance. We invest time, money, and many hours into these vehicle, so why not protect them with a cheap(er) alternative.

wow wow wow... I read through your narrative and when I scrolled down to the picture, I was just like "WOW!" I can tell you really did your research and really read [MENTION=57546]4-Ripcord[/MENTION]'s solid/awesome Buyer's Guide because you really knew what you were looking for and you found it!

That has got to be one of the cleanest, awesomest stock rigs I have seen yet... Congratulations on the find!

As for the MPGs, I drive a mostly stock (front ARB & 265/70/R16 BFG Rugged Trails, stock suspension) rig and try to get 300 miles/tank. I can get 300 if I've been driving mostly highway and I push the low gas light. I get 17-18 MPGs with mixed city & highway driving, but if I do long highways, I get 20. My record so far is 21.8 MPGs actually! Plus, I would recommend an Ultraguage or a Scanguage, they help you develop an idea of what kind of driving habits help or detract from your MPGs. I do need to replace my spark plugs (kudos for getting on that!), air filter, and fuel filter (might I suggest that if it hasn't been done, it might help your MPGs). I should do my O2 sensors too...

Hey, hey I appreciate it. The buyers' guide pretty much did all the work for me... it was just a matter of the right 4Runner, with all the right option, for the right price. Luckily for me, that came sooner than later.

That's some awesome numbers you are getting there. I am hoping with this tune-up, i'll be able to boost my MPGs some. I just filled up the other day, and only got to 205.8 miles when my light came on, which came out to 15.67 MPGs. I've adjusted my tire pressure, so we will see what happens. I know these vehicles are not made for MPGs, but heck, if I can, I would like the maximize it as much as possible! I appreciate you stopping by and dropping a line...

Didn't you mention it but are you 4x4? That could also play a role in your mpg, not a huge but still.
 
Awesomely clean truck and nearly looks new and not with the stated 177k on the odo. Your MPGs unfortunatly are pretty close to what most get with around town and minimal hwy driving. I've got 176,700 on mine and with the slightly larger tires but otherwise stock I'm seeing 15-17 with mostly city driving and my mom with her bone stock '99 Limited is only getting 2 more MPGs around town.

Can't wait to see some more pics.
