My 1993 Toyota Pathfinder rear window will not go down and I'm hearing clicking in rear panel with engine running.

In the past, when the switch in the console wouldn't work for the down position, I could go to the tailgate and move the window down 1/8 inch at a time using the key. Once the window was about 4 inches down, I could move back to the front console switch and bring it down the remaining distance.

This problem in the past has been intermittent. Now I hear a constant clicking in the left rear panel when it won't work (With engine on) and the rear wiper system will not operate or pump water when rear window is not working.

My current issue is that the rear window will not move at all (Either from console or rear key). When ignition is off and using the rear key I hear the click on the relay in left rear panel (Still no movement). When the engine is running I hear a constant clicking from left rear panel.

Wiper is seated, door is closed, front switch good, window is fully up, doesn't matter if defrost and wiper is on...

When I hear the clicking with engine on, I know the window won't work...

You don't really expect it to cooperate while you're calling it by the competition's name, do you?

He might not be. He is in Japan. The names our vehicle have here in the U.S. are different overseas. The Tacoma is a Hilux, the 4runner is sometimes called a Hilux surf, there is a Land Crusier Prado and the FJ has been named the Bandeirante. There are even old school FJ front end style truck sold in some countries.

Or he could just be confusing the Nissan! :wow:

Surf, yes--Pathfinder, no. As to the window, the 2nd Gen has a bad problem with water getting into the tailgate and rusting out the window regulator, making it move really slow (or not at all after a while) because of the crust between the moving parts. I'd pull the interior panel off the tailgate and take a closer look.
