You might be right since you live on the other side of the US it would be costly. Unless you can get a deal with freight company.

That is a nice bumper, could you put a hole for a winch mount and factory turns in? I think you could have a side job here I am sold (depending on $)
Will you build a rear bumper for the same runner?? that's what I want! With receiver and possibly tire carrier!!

We can use a plasma cutter to put the stock turns in(i thought about doing just that) as for the winch, That is doable as well. If we figured right we can make one for about 500.00. I work for a Garage door company so shipping companies come in all the time so I will ask on of them for a quote. I used to live in Woodland CA and my sis still does so Ill get a quote on her addy.

If you are taking design ideas...I'd like to see something a little deeper - measuring from the front face of the bumper to where it meets the body/grille. Right now it looks like just 2". Something more like 4" would put it a little closer to the Shrockworks and others. Otherwise the lines are great! An option for using the stock turn signals would be perfect.

All the brackets we chose to use were 1/4". We also chose to weld it up but brackets could be made to go all bolt on
Once we made the brackett we started the mock up with the square tube
We cut a notch out of the back side of the tubing to make the angles and added a piece of the tubing for the sides
After tack welding all in place we took it all back apart for the final welding. We started on the skirting that is a seperate piece that is mounted to the verticle plates. We wanted to help with the air fow so we lowered it apx 1/2-3/4". Now ill post up several shots that we took. If you need any specific shots just ask. I also plan in tapping the bumper to install an Air port for on board air as a holding tank.

Ill get with my friend and work on a deeper offset. I wouldnt think it would be much of an issue to pull it out further

x3 that thing's gotta be tighter to the front of the truck, or at least appear to be by filling in that gap

We talked about puting a 3/16 plate over the top to make it closed but I chose this route. We would deffinatly do that if we made it come out further.

Sure, it is my start of a radiator skid. It will have an angle piece coming up to meet the skirt. As it sits it would be very vulnerable but once the angle piece gets on it it should be stronger.

Hey guys. New poster here but I follow this forum religiously. Many repairs have been done and streamlined with all of your help. Thank you. I wanted to give back a bit with this post.
I saw this post awhile back and just knew I had to have one of these bumpers. I have a buddy with some welding experience and his friend has a garage with basic metal working tools in it. So we decided to give it a shot and try to recreate this bumper. We are 99% done and just have to weld on a plate to cover the exposed radiator under the bumper. Here are some pics of the build and final product.
I have all of the specs written down. I will have to find the time to decipher my chicken scratch handwriting and come up with dimensions for each piece. The blinkers were 2.5" LED blinkers from Advanced Auto. Don't forget to get resistors for the LED lights to avoid hyper flash. That was annoying and a setback we didn't intend to deal with.
Also, as a side note. For the mounts, we used 1/4" steel plate. We decided not to reinforce the vertical mounts with any side bracing. The OP had side straps that he put up for extra support. We figured that for the amount of towing or getting towed that I do from the front of my vehicle, it probably wasn't warranted. Luckily they easily could be added in the future.
Total cost was about $200-$225 in parts and material and $125 to my friend for helping me out. So around $350 total.. give or take.
If you have questions, let me know and I will get back to you as soon as possible. It tooks us about 1.5 months doing it on weeknights at about 4 hours per session. Overall it probably took us 6-7 meetings but with the holidays it drug out to 1.5 months. Luckily I have a 2nd vehicle I could use in the meantime. While the vehicle was non driveable (no blinkers since they are housed in the bumper) I used the time to replace inner and outer tie rods, sway bar links, sway bushings and brackets, rear shocks and springs, rear hatch locking mechanism and clean and spray paint the factory engine undercover and grille.
She is practically brand new now!

Super cool seing my old build. Glad you were able to build it. I long since sold this runner but think of it often
This bumper really influenced my build. I would start my own thread and attach your post but I haven't been on here long enough. I just hit a deer Wednesday doing about 65-70 lucky it didn't do to much damage but gave me a reason to build a bumper. I wanted to do it a little different so I could put a winch in it.

I've seen rigs that hit deer at much slower speed with way more damage than yours. Someone must have been watching out for you. Congrats on not much damage. I'm anxious to see how you fit a winch in it. I was tempted to do it when I built this bumper but chose to not put one in
Thing was the "fat lip" was okay it popped back out but it looked so bad sticking out I ripped it off. But I need to ask how you attatched your lower sheet metal? It looks like you had a couple of tabs on it?
