Thank you, I love the outdoors and try to take as many camping/exploring trips as I can!
Those are my friends magnetic signs that way "globtroter". He likes expedition type travel so he made his own logo that he just sticks on my truck. He has traveled Arctic Circle from So Cal with his rig.
If plans go smoothly I plan to ship my 4runner to Australia and do a 12 week trip there and cross the Simpson Dessert, Stock Canning Route, visit Fraser Island, etc. That's if my friend does not back down.
That's my other friends 2014 Subaru Forester, its an AWD. It does decent off road but lacks ground clearance as you would expect. So once we hit that water crossing we had to go back because obviously it was to deep for him to cross. I crossed it just for the photo op.

Just got back from a 3 day Death Valley trip with [MENTION=107119]2014 Warthog[/MENTION]. Here are some pictures of our trip. Took Goler Wash to Mengel Pass into Butte Valley. Exited Butte Valley from Warm Springs Road. Headed North to Eureka Dunes and ran Steele Pass to the springs.
Was an awesome trip. Met new friends and invited an old friend of mine that is new to wheelin'.

Thank you. I have around 60k miles on it.
California has some nice terrain. Lets see if we get a good winter. I have owned the vehicle for 3+ years now and never went snow wheelin with it.

Awesome build! New to the site and actually have a 2009 TE lined up to buy to hopefully become part of the 4R family.
I had a 3rd party do a pre purchase inspection and all checked out except the 4LO would not engage. The dealer said the actuator needed repair and they're doing it now.
Since you bought yours used, I was curious if you ran into this issue or what your thoughts are on buying this car with this issue?
The TE is such a rare breed I'm trying to make sure I'm not making a bad call just because I want the TE. Do you think I'm making a bad call buying a used car with an actuator that needs fixing (and is getting fixed) or do you think this problem is not a huge issue and is worth purchasing if the repair is done right?

If dealer can fix the actuator for you than go ahead a buy it. Make sure its done at the Toyota Dealer to make sure you have a warranty if its not done correctly.

Selling my Gobi Stealth Rack:
- Gobi Stealth rack to accommodate 40" LED light bar. (or you can do a 20" LED bar in the middle and two 6" bars on the left and right.
- Gobi Sunroof insert (can be removed when needed). Never installed it, its brand new.
- Gobi Shovel and Axe mounts
- Gobi tool box with key (never used)
- Gobi wind deflector
- Comes with all Gobi hardware to install.
Rack is in perfect shape. I always kept my car in the garage and only used it on trips. The OEM wiring on the rack was never tapped into.
Basically its a new rack.
$1,000 firm.
Local buyers only. I live in Orange County, California. I'm going to post it in the classifieds section in a day or so with pics.

Just installed my full length 2.2m Eezi-Awn K-9 Expedition Roof Rack.
I purchased it from Paul May over at Equipt | Roof Top Tents, Expedition Roof Racks, Dual Battery Systems, Portable Fridges
I sold my Gobi and I was looking for a completely flat rack so I can mount up a roof top tent easier. It is full aluminum so you do not need to worry about any rusting. It is low profile which is a big plus for reducing wind noise.
The install was a little more troublesome than I wanted. This was due to the rails being to short where the original holes where drilled. I have to drill new mounting holes into the rail to move the rack 5 inches forward so the 5th leg can attach to it.
Now I am 100% happy with the new K9 rack. Paul May over at equipt1 has excellent customer service and works with you with whatever issue you may have.
Another benefit is with this rack if you purchase say a 5th gen 4runner, GX 460 years later, you can transfer this rack onto your new vehicle. The only item you might have to purchase is the rails.
I highly recommend this rack. I have never seen a 2.2m K9 rack installed on a 4th gen before.

Pardon the simple question, but what about the Gobi made it harder to use with a RTT? I've seen people use RTTs with them, but never heard of any significant problems.

If I really wanted to I could of attached a roof top tent to it. The issue I have the front of the Gobi is raised to make room for a light bar in that location. I want to install a hard shell tent over hanging the front of the rack 4-6 inches to create room in the back of the tent for a narrow long storage box.
In order to do that I would need to put 3/4 inch or more spacers on Gobi's cross bars for the tent to clear the front of bar of the Gobi. I did not want to raise the center of gravity anymore than I needed to since I off road this vehicle alot.
I did not want to deal with all that. Selling the Gobi pretty much paid for the K9 rack.
Hard shell tent just IMO looks cleaner overall on a low profile flat rack than a basket style one.

That makes sense, thanks for the explanation. I'm planning on using an RTT that is on the back of the rack, so that wouldn't a problem for me.
