My 4runner OVERHEATED.......AGAIN!!

ok i know driving around w/out a fan blade isint smart, but i gotta get around, so i was driving the other day up a hill (that my buddie said was not a long drive), and right when i parked, she started to steam & boil, so i let her cool down, u kno the rutine, the overflo tank was about empty, and i filled it back up. when i started it back up, it ran very weird for about 2 minutes, like putt putt not firing on all cylinders or something. umm.....any help???

what motor and what year of t4r, my 88 22re did the same thing. turned out to be the head gasket.

Ok, so you're driving without a fan to cool your engine, and you drive up a hill, which puts more stress on the engine, which makes it run hotter.

It over heats and runs bad, and you don't know why ???

I don't know how to answer this with out making you feel bad.

I replaced mine with a larger capacity rad and made sure the anti freeze/water mix was at 50/50. No ploblema now.
