My 4runners (present and past)

I have owned several 4runners over the years. Thought I would share a few pictures of the ones I have now and a few of the old ones I have had

Presently I have 2, a 96 and a 91...
The 96...It's pretty much a weekend ride and I pull my 91 to the trails with it

The 91...It's pretty much a trail rig only. 320,000 miles and still ticking along

This is an 84 I bought and pretty much completely redone. Sold it about a year ago

The 85 trail rig/rock crawler I just sold this spring

Thanks, it's been a good one so far. Wasn't too fond of it having the 3.slow in it but, when I looked it all over and saw that it was all original paint, stripes, ect., I couldn't pass it up. I have done a tune up, water pump, timing belt, valve cover gaskets, hoses since I bought it. Only problem it has given me was that the coolant temp sensor went bad and it took me a little while to figure that out. it has around 208,000 miles on it now. I keep the oil changed and drive it every day to work :lookout:

Well, I have acquired a couple more 4runners over the past few months. It's a bad addiction!! Or is it considered a good one? Ha!

First is a 97 Limited 4x4 w/electric locker. Needs just a little tlc....




Next is another 97 limited 4x4, no electric locker, needs headgaskets and a little tlc....

Well, I've had the 97 together now for a few months and it has been doing great. My wife has been driving it a few days a week, giving her tahoe a rest. It's been averaging 18-19 mpg! Mainly secondary roads, no highway driving. I am very pleased with that! Can't go wrong with a Toyota!!

It has been a while and I about forgot about this thread. I have sold the maroon 97 and made a fair amount on it. I sold the 96 Desert Dune over the summer. I recently bought another 96 that is a 2.7, 2wd that was wrecked in the front. It has kept me busy for a little while. I painted the body parts Friday and started putting it together today.

I am by no means a body and/or paint guy at all. I got the paint by the paint code in the door jam. I should have had someone scan it because the paint is off some but oh well. It's a cheap budget build for a daily driver so no show car here. It will suit that need just fine.

Gonna have to get it finished pretty soon because I picked up a 99 Limited, 4x4, E-Locker on Saturday that has a slipping transmission so it's next on the list. I think it's a keeper









I already have a set of wheels and tires looking for a place to call home.

Thanks man. Several of those have been sold now. I still have the white 97 Limited, the 96 base model, and I think I'm going to fix the 99 Limited and keep it for a while.

The '84 project looked like an extensive job to fix up the interior. Nice before / after pics!

Yeah, It was pretty much a restoration short of taking the body off the frame. Thanks. I got the 99 on the road this weekend. Changed solenoids in the transmission, filter and fluid and she is pulling like a champ. Also stuck the TRD wheels on it while it was on the lift

Still have the 96 base model and the 99 Limited. Also still have the 97 Limited. Been working on the 97 some recently, decided to make it a trail rig.

Just picked up a 98 SR5 4x4 that was bumped in the front, ran hot and toasted the engine. Looks like it will make a good winter project.

Dang! I wish i was mechanically talented like you. I'm scare of taking it that far. Quite the collection though.
