My 2009 FJ I have owned since new.
Hello. I'll ask you since you've had an FJ for a while and it looks like a red 4R in the background. I've been looking to get a second 4Runner, a used one. Would an FJ be an acceptable alternative? I have a 2019 TRDOR, and a 2001 T4R that's being destroyed by frame rust. Whatever I get will mostly be driven daily by my wife. Around here, FJs with 100k miles can be found for around $15k - $20k. If they're not too different to drive from a 4R, I may widen my search to include FJs. Thoughts? Thanks.

I love my FJ.Between my 4Runner and FJ I like all the bells and whistles the runner has but the FJ is a tank in the woods so I am glad to have both.

Thanks for the response. Any easier/more difficult for a short(er) woman to drive? You know, getting in and out, visibility front and back, do the doors make things easier or more difficult, etc. We would get a stock one if we do, not a lifted one. Thanks again.

Visibility does factor in the FJ does have some blind spots for sure.My wife has no problem driving it and she is short. My advise have her test drive one for sure. The blind spots are amped for me because my windows are so dark too.

Thanks, sir. We’ll certainly test drive with this stuff in mind!
