My Intake...

A month or two ago I did the deckplate mod, bought a K&N drop in, and noticed a decent power increase. I little bit after I did the mod my CEL came on, it turned out my MAF sensor was dirty. I cleaned the MAF sensor and repated this cycle a few times (CEL came on; cleaned sensor) then I just said screw it and took the K&N out and put the stock filter in, would I have the same problem with a Trueflow? Is there anything I can do with the K&N that's worthwhile?

yep thats what happens when you buy a k&n the oil from the filter will do that thats why i went with a trueflow wich is the best filter out there

i will agree that the true flow is a better filter, but i have a feeling you are over oiling your K&N. i have been running my K&N for 110k and only have had to clean the MAF once, and that was after i seafoamed my engine. dont use too much oil, but dont use too little, the spray on oil is the easiest to use to get the proper amount. however if you can return the K&N to whereever you bought it from then i say do it and go buy a true flow

The K&N came pre-oiled and I never applied any more oil to it. I'mm check on their return policy but I do believe I'm gonna have to eat this one :(

they overoil them from the factory, i had all the oil removed and oiled it myself.

I havent had a CEL come on but I havent checked my MAF yet to clean it.

Never had any issues with my K&N and I switch back and forth every once in a while betwen that one and a paper one just to see if it makes a diff and so far it doesn't seem there is any.
