i installed the leds and it turned out great. the only thing i didn't like was i put one in the parking lights and it was really dim, but oh well. thanks for the mod. late.

What leds did you install? Did you attempt to make your own or did you buy a premade replacement? I, too, am looking to replace the parking light, but would like it to be at least as bright as the stock bulb it would be replacing. Any information would be appreciated.

If you want bright one, you have to make it yourself. I did install LEDs which I bought from www.autolumination.com, but I changed to the bulb back due to brightness.

Yeah, I have been doing some research and making some minor purchases for making my own LEDs. I bought the super white 6 leds from superbrightleds.com for the doors and have the super white matrix leds for the running board lights. They are better than the stock bulbs, but I am not too fond of the bluish/purple tint that these bulbs have (too bling, bling for my taste). I purchased some warm white leds and will try to see looks any better.

I also wanted to replace the parking light to be brighter amber and to match the DRL, but the original leds that I bought were too redish orange and not the yellowish orange (amber). I actually purchased some more leds to try out and see what I could come up with.

By the way, the first bulb that I made had a 5mm led in the center surrounded by 4 3mm leds. This is bit tricky to solder and even trickier to fit into the empty wedge. ..

just curious did they send you the larger white wedge, or the smaller clear wedge?

The first time I ordered from them, I got the white ones that worked pretty good. Then the second time I got the smaller one, and I haven't even bothered with them. Doesn't look like I could fit anything in them.

darn I was hoping they got more of the larger white ones in. Those were easier to work with.

You could probably send him an email, but I highly doubt he'll give you any information. I have done quite a bit of looking around for empty wedges on the net, but haven't found anybody other than him selling them.

The running boards take a 194 type bulb, so if your going to go with a plug/play type. You'll want something off this page.

it will help distribute the light more, since it has LED's going in all directions..

I personally didn't like the LED's they used in theirs. They had more of a purplish look to them, and I wanted more of the HID white/blue look. That's another reason why I went with making my own.

Those wedges they have pictures are the ones I used. But now, when you buy them, they send you a clear wedge that is not as wide on the end. So it's harder to get the leds into it.

If you can get the white ones, then it's easier to do your own.

However, those particular wedges are for the 7443/7440 bulbs, which is the size of our stop bulbs. The wedges needed for the parking lamp is a 194 and the empty wedges could be found on the 194 page at this site. They also have the wedges for 3157/4157 as well. I purchased a few of each (194, 3157, 7443) just to have and, for the record, all of the wedges are clear. cdoyle managed to get some bigger white 194 sockets at one time, and they would be nice, because the clear 194 wedge is hard to work with.

The dash as far as I know is already lit with LED's

To change the color you would have to unsolder all the surface mount LEDs and then resolder the new ones on. That would be a big job, and I would get a used cluster to practice on.

They seem to have a large selection.

Dash lights you will need to find out what type of surface mount LED our cluster has, then try and find some that have the same specs, in the color you want. If you're new to this, I would pass on the cluster for now
