My LED Project

would i get 2 of these to switch my exterior amber headlights to white ones ? http://autolumination.com/headlights.htm

again sorry for the questions.

Are you talking about the parking lights?

If so, those are also a 194 type bulb. For that go with the matrix, it will light up the reflector better.

Just to remind you, when I bought their LED's they had a white/purple look to them. Not the white/blue look.

Just so you are aware.

can i plllllleazssssss get a link?

This would be what you need...

I believe that I bought mine from www.superbrightleds.com.

I have the super white 6 LED in the doors and the license plate lamps. I have the super white matrix in the running boards. I am not fond of the bluish tint with mine and will probably be making my own using warm white leds. I think that would be combination between the stock yellowish with the super white.

Yes the warm white will have a more yellow (not as yellow as the OEM bulb) look to it.

The map l ights are stated as 168, which I believe are the same as 194.

If you're unsure of the bulb number, a good site to check is www.sylvania.com and goto the lamp replacement guide. You could also do a search within this forum as bulb numbers have been discussed numerous times. I am not being rude, but this was cdoyles thread about DIY led bulbs, and the past 2 pages have been nothing but throwing the same bulb number and links to the same 2 sites which you could purchase led bulbs. Let's try to stay on topic please.

i found LED parking light wedges (I THINK) correct me if i'mwrong would these work http://www.eautoworks.com/html/ORD-1-1-1-33225.cfm ?????????

Just to make sure, are you talking about the lights up near the headlights that are amber? Or the DRL's?

The DRL's are going to be tricky, because they are also the turn signal too. Because an LED doesn't take as much current as a bulb. The Runner will think you have a blown out bulb, and will flash too fast. So you'll have to somehow put a resistor in the circuit or replace the flasher, with a load independent type. (since I haven't done this yet, I have no idea what type of flasher our rigs have. On a side note with the DRL's I would avoid using the plug/play type because you'll never get the same brightness as with a bulb.

For this type of application, you would need to do a LED retro. To learn more about LED retros here is a great forum. http://hidplanet.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=3

One of my next projects is to do a retro on the rear bumper lights. Then maybe the DRL's.

If I ever get to it, I'll post a write up for that too.

it's not for the DRLs its for the amber lights!

You are talking about these lights (mine are hyperwhite because I've already changed them)

If so, they are a 194 bulb just like the doors and map lights.
