My M.U.L.E.

Things are slowing down on the build.

As pictured, we filled out the lights in the bumper. We went Rigid fog lights for the DOT compliance and an Oz-USA light bar. The Oz got good reviews and came with a nice harness. I swapped out the switch for a MICTUNING Toyota style switch to keep things consistent inside.

I also picked up a Factor 55 Flatlink for the winch; something I never even bought myself for the Jeep. Something about the 4R just makes me want to really keep things looking tidy.

We're looking at roof racks right now. Gobi is the gold standard, but a bit out of our range.

Our current pick is the PrinSu Design rack. We're trying to decide between a full rack and a 3/4. But we have to pick something within the next couple of months since we'll be making a circuit around the four corners and will include a bit of camping (and some Moab).

The final item on our list is lift, but I'm trying to decide if I really want to mess with X-REAS or not. I know it's not crazy to "deactivate" the system, but I'm wondering what kind of handling difference there is without it.

Hey,
Any progress on the rig? was thinking of a similar setup on my limited. Pelfreybilt bumper and 275s. How is it working for you and is there anyway you could take a side profile pic of your truck?

A 5th Gen in OG Ivan "The Ironman" Stewart race colors would be glorious. You have an opportunity here. I'm just saying.

edit: apparently that was a 2wd Ford Ranger with a 4Runner body that Stewart would drive for pre-running.

here you go:

How do you like the antenna mount? Does the antenna itself get in the line of vision/way of daily driving? Would you do it differently if you were to do it again?

It's not bad. At first it's noticeable but you get used to the placement pretty quick. I don't think I'd change the placement if I had to do it again.

Sooo, after this weekend, I might be rethinking this. We were out on a pretty aggressive trail and the antenna got bent. So I straightened it the best I could without breaking it and later on, it got bent again.

That location does seem a bit prone to damage from branches, but I can't think of another place that might be less vulnerable for a 1/2 wave.

Also, my wife figured out ATRAC and OMG that system is pretty darn spiffy. I'm sorry for all the bad things I said about it before.

She's under the knife again finally!

Sincer we're not towing with her anymore, she's getting an Ironman nitro lift. 2.5" in the front to overcome the rake and heavier bumper/winch and 2" in the rear. Also deleting the XREAS system, obviously.

It definitely perked her up a bit, but she looks like she skipped leg day so new rubber probably isn't too far behind.

I think I may have sheared off one of the front lower strut bolts though. I was trying to get it torqued to spec and it was hard hard hard and suddenly easy. To nervous right now to try and figure it out, so it's going to sit until tomorrow. I'm not sure if it twisted off or if the bolt turned.

But winchy_woman will be back tonight and she can help me figure it out tomorrow. Oh yeah, I lifted your truck while you were gone! Love ya!
