Two years ago I purchased a 2000 4Runner SR5 5-speed manual, 3.4L V6.
Love this truck.
When I first purchased (164,000 miles) I did a bunch of routine maintenance stuff (all fluids, plugs and wires, fuel filter, air filter, etc.), but have so far not done any mods or upgrades. Truck now has 175,000 and runs fantastic. Was very well taken care of by previous owner.
I'm going to start making some changes/upgrades, and here's what I'm thinking:
1. Sonoran Silver System 7.2 (1996-2002 - System 7.2 - $1,385.00 : Sonoran Steel, Sonoran Steel Custom Metal Fabrication L.L.C. Custom Toyota Truck Parts) Adjustable 1.5"-3.5" Front & 2"-3.5" Rear lift kit.
2. CBI Offroad Front Hybrid Bumper + WARN M8000 Winch (3rd Gen Front Hybrid + WARN M8000 | CBI Offroad Fab)
3. CBI Offroad Rear Hybrid Bumper (T4R3 Rear Hybrid Bumper | CBI Offroad Fab)
4. TRD Supercharger (COMPLETE Supercharger Kit Tacoma, 4Runner 3.4 PTR29-89020) plus fuel mods, etc.
So, any thoughts on those mods, order in which I should do them or even whether they are advisable?
In particular, I'm interested in whether the supercharger mod is a bad idea with 175,000 miles on the engine? It's the most expensive mod, and the only one that I could see being harder on the engine/drive train. But it's also my only complaint about my T4R — would like more power for climbing passes and towing.
Your feedback and advice is appreciated.
