Without a doubt then bigger tires will be needed. Heck, I'm surprised those 255/65/16's don't look small as is.

Wow... I'm an idiot. The above post made me go look at my truck tires, because they really look pretty good on there (I think). I have no idea where the numbers I put in my original post came from. My current tires are 265/70R-16.

Where the hell did I come up with the 255/65R??? No idea. I've now put it in this thread 3 times, so there's no denying it. Just stupid. It's not like they came on the truck... I bought them myself 2 years ago! Even spent time shopping for them.

I really wouldn't recommend the winch and bumpers unless you find you need them. There are downsides to having them, namely, cost and fuel economy. Eight years ago I said I would upgrade bumpers when I damaged mine or found they held me back. And here I am still running OEM bumpers.

I would put rock sliders on the list before bumpers. Otherwise, your list seems solid. Check out my build thread (linked in my sig) for a similar build, minus the bumpers of course.

I have already been shopping for rock sliders, and will probably move them up my list, especially if I decide the winch/bumper can wait. I've been looking at Shrockworks' bolt-on option, but I'm not crazy about the angle.

I read your build thread — beautiful truck and a great thread. Love what you've done with it. Seems like you're more electronically inclined/capable than most!

Any reason to be leery of the Supercharger on a truck with 176,000+ miles on it? I've got the 5-speed manual plus locking rear diff, just like yours.

Let me start by saying I have never had coilovers and you may want to get other people's input as well, but I have read quite a few threads about corrosion issues on coilovers that inhibit adjustments later, combined with leaks and clunks that necessitate a rebuild. (Speaking in general here, not the specifically brand that SS uses.) Personally, I like the simplicity of the Toyota Tundra coil and separate shock that you can change out at a much lower cost. I also don't like the 'stink bug' look that you get with the 1.2. The 7.2 sits mostly level (with a slight rake in the rear), which I think looks best.

Nice find! The 5-speed + elocker is a rare combination. I would not hesitate one bit to supercharge a 5VZ-FE that had twice that number of miles, as long as it is caught up on maintenance and running well. These motors are stout, but you're wasting your money if your engine is a leaky, rough running POS.

Just curious -- How is your price at $4k for a new SC? It is $2,700 brand new and labor shouldn't be more than a few hours if you are paying someone. I'm not factoring in parts+labor for the 7th injector here... but some people SC at our elevation (CO/mile-high) and say the 7th is not necessary, and no pinging/knocking either.

I know where you can get a used 2 1/2" old man emu lift cheap.
BTW, with suspension AND body lift your stock tires are going to be hideous. If theyre in good shape, maybe you can get a little cash back by selling them on CL

I'm not an expert in the area... but if you ask Kirk (Owner of a Toyota 4x4 shop in Thornton called Rock Toy Industries) -- he installs superchargers (among other services) and he told me once he doesn't see the need for a 7th in Colorado.

Others on here (Even from CO) state they ran SC'd without the 7th, and ended up needing it eventually. So, like always -- multiple answers for 1 issue. You are probably better off with it, just in case.
