My new T4R pics. Upgrade suggestions?

First of all, that is a nice looking 4runner. I would definitely suggest getting clear corner lenses. I got mine for less than 30 bucks, and i think they look great.

I would also suggest taking off those running boards.

I am going to buy the Bridgestone REVO's this week b/c you can get a $75 rebate when you buy a set of 4 right now. Either tire would be great, but I think the REVOs will be better in the rain and ice.

It looks like the previous owner redefined the shape of your faux skidplate or is it just me?

Avoid a brush guard altogether since all they are for is looks and if you get into even just a small front end dink it can push the whole guard into the hood and grill and do more damage just from corner hit. They'll do more bad than good.

yea, the skid plate has an arch in it. at first i thought thats how it was supposed to be. but then after seeing some other SE models on the road, i saw that their factory skid plate was straight. thats when i realized mine was not how it comes from the factory. im not sure he "redefined" it so to speak. haha, probably more like "hit something" with it. it looks like thats how its supposed to be though (unless you compare it with other T4R's that have it). it looks symmetrical and all. i dont know... wierd...

Very Clean. Nice 4Runner. Sometimes it is what you don't do that sets your 4Runner apart. I mean it looks great as is.

Your wheels are probably 16's so the OE tire size is approx. 265/70/16. Make sure if you go with the Revos you get the correct max. weight and load range.

Use Tirerack.com and when you select the size of tire and brand then select the SPEC tab. It will provide you the particulars not only on the one you want but also all other sizes of that same tire.

For example, I upsized to 265/70/17 with Revos. 113S SL is the info on the side of the tire. There are other Revos with higher load ranges that cause the tires to be much heavier. Thus, reducing gas mileage.

This is the brochure info "The Dueler A/T REVO with UNI-T AQII Technology was developed to meet the needs of pickup truck and sport utility vehicle drivers who drive their vehicle both on and off the road. The Dueler A/T REVO is Bridgestone's first Off-Road All-Terrain light truck tire in America to feature UNI-T AQII Technology. It uses an advanced compound and construction features that enhance and preserve wet traction throughout the tire's life to better handle wet road conditions.

On the outside, the Dueler A/T REVO molds a Super Long Link Carbon Black, Dual Layer Tread II compound into an aggressive, all-terrain pattern of interlocking tread blocks to provide traction and handling on- and off-road. I have to agree with 4-Ruiner
- I have stock set up w/ 265/75/16 Revos! Not nearly as aggressive looking as BFG's but better on road if that is where you spend most of your time.
- Take off the running boards. It gives your truck a little more aggressive look.
- Take off the SE badges on the door and replace the rest of them with the black onyx, spend the money to get them from a dealer ship, they go on great and stay on!
- No brush guard, if you are going to drop some money get the low end tjm.

Great looking truck! That is exactly what I was looking for (black) until a came across a deal that was too good to pass up!

As most people would say, Jaos is a rip-off and I couldn't agree more. I got a deal from a guy on yotatech and paid $700 for a center bar, lights and skid plate. Normally, these parts on Jason B's site would be about $1250 plus shipping. I couldn't pass up the deal. Plus, they match my Jaos wheels. Next on the radar is the Jaos rear wing from Jason B...

Just curious, why go to the dealer rather than doing the "poor man" black emblem mod. I want these but am having a difficult time justifying $200 plus shipping.

why? well, i presume not everybody is poor

some people have more disposable income for this type of stuff. im sure the poor mans way would work, but look at it from the other perspective... why do it the poormans way when you have $200 burning a hole in your pocket? haha...

Thanks but I was hoping for an opinion from someone that's tried both or at least the poor man method. I can spend $200 but why when it comes out the same?

Actually Alpine, I am not rich and do not have money burning holes in my pocket. When I puchased my 4Runner I negotiated a set of black onyx badges into the deal for cost. I was a total ass when negotiating the price of my truck, got them to give me significantly more money for my trade in than it was worth, and still paid about $2 k below retail price. I wrote a letter to the dealership owner, the sales manager, and the sales rep, tellling them how much I appreciated them working with me even though I was stubborn. The day after receiving the letter the sales rep called me, thanked me for the letter, and said that my badge set had been ordered and they would be "on the house".

Why not do the poor mans job? I found that the badges where very difficult to remove without bending and breaking them. What I think would be even harder than taking them off would be putting them back on and having them stick well. Just my $.02

Makes sense to me. Those badges do look really nice.
