My new to me T4R, I pulled the trigger :)

I did it
I'm officially the owner of my new to me T4R. She's a 1999 LTD with 151k miles. I paid $4700. AS IS.

It needs a new actuator. $1130.00, 2 body mounts $230 and New Tires.

As for the tires PLEASE HELP ME OUT...I'll be 95% on the road,5% mud/dirt. I will be towing my boat a few times per year and a pop up trailer once a year or so. As i said in a different post I'd like a good road tire that can handle some snow.

So far the recommendation I like the best is BFG's T/A KO 265/70/16 $1133CND OWCH

Can the actuator be fixed or does it have to be replaced.

I have the duratracs and love them, I've also ran the nitto terra grapplers and loved those as well. Sorry to all the BFG lovers out there but I personally think they are over rated and over priced.

YES & YES , The original owner was a toyota mechanic, had a 3rd child then sold it to his brother, he had a 3rd child. With no room for 3 child seats it's now mine. Comes with service records & loads of extra parts.

Nothing wrong with the BFG A/T's. I've had a few sets over the years with different vehicles and they've worked really well for me.

I'd recommend the 265/75 size though, they're typically cheaper than the 265/70's. From what I was told is they're more common so they can sell them cheaper.

Either way congrats, that's a great price that you paid.

I'm a big fan of Falken tires. I had Falken AT2's for about 75000 miles, and I'm now 8000 into my AT3's.

OP hasn't been active since 2011, but I'm going to guess the transfer case actuator judging by price and that it's a limited. Someone revived this thread the other day from 2011 lol
