Hi guys. The plan was always to put SFA under my truck in front and put on 44 "tires on it.

BUT ITS GONE NOW....

But I decided it last week to just trade my 38 '4runner up to another 44" modifyd 4runner.

Part of its mods are extended wheele base , moving the rear axle back by 10 inches and up front to it has a SFA swap put as much forward as possible

Longer wheel base = more flotation on snow.

four link in front and rear

and alot of stuff i will write about later

Otherwise, It needs some work make it to 100% condition.

But I use the summer to make it ready for next winter season.

yes its my Daily driver... you need to go into a specal vehicle inspection and after that the car is legal on the road as factory car. Those artic trucks drive no worse than any other truck on the road.. They are build right and strong..

the tires are Dic k Cepek Fun Country Nylon Belted Bias Ply 44" and with shipping to iceland and after tax its between 3500$ - 4500$

With all the snow and ice, how must rust do cvehicles up there accumulate? I can imagine if you stay mostly in the wet and steer clear of salted roadeds it wouldnt be so bad. Just curious. My first 'runner was a rustbucket due to hawaii's severe humidity and salt in the air from the ocean. Thank god i live in sunny dry socal now. maybe this new one wont rust away to bits.

It depends very much on where in the country the truck has been for the last 20 years. If he was near the capital where they salt the streets several times a day, there are high probability that the car is very rusty. Specaly the frame behind the rear axle.
This one has been far from the capital and virtually has no rust

Update.

I just finished loading the truck of what I have with me for trips to the mountains.
tomorrow morning we go on a few trucks up to the highlands and spend the day /night after.
Hopefully this trip will have some challange and bad weather: D fopefully just a drive by GPS
No fun if things are to easy.

The trip was good. No travel weather but that does not stop Icelanders
My camera is broken and I can not take the pics from the travel over to my computer
But here are some pics i took today.

You can see 3 gas tanks under there.. Enough gas for few days of offroading

dampers are too short, have to be replaced with longer Koni ones.

Not much original in the rear suspension. Rear axle moved back about 8 "

The front axle is a 8" Toyota from a older Hilux which has been strengthened ALOT !

The Tires are big 44" Dic k Capek Fun Country on 15" high and 18" wide wheels

The Cockpit , The GPS , VHF and the buttons next to the radio are for the fuel tanks and air pumps , the buttonst left by the stearing wheel are for the working lights on top og the truck.

And the back. You can see the modyfid rear fender plus fire extinguishers and first aid kit
