My Oil Analysis Report after 5000 miles/8000 kms on dino oil

I've switched to extended drain intervals on my V8... Last time I went 7,500 miles. Next time around I'm going to try for 10k miles using Mobil 1....

$20 for the standard test and another $10 if you want a TBN test, which basically tells you how much longer you can run your oil. They'll send you the kits for free if you go to their website.

Most of the important info is listed across the bottom of the page. It tells you where it should be, and where it is.

The only time the actual analysis is important is when you are wanting to find out the composition of an oil.

My oil chart says what oil I used. The other poster's chart didn't say what brand of oil he used, though.

My oil was Petro-Canada Maximum 5W30. Standard stuff that you might get from a dealer. Filter was a Purolator. With the new strict specs, I think all oils are pretty good these days.

Thanks, I was interested in what was in your vehicle because the silicon was a little above average.

They said the same about mine; silicon being above average. I have a stock Toyota filter as well... It probably had about 18-20k miles on it when that last sample was sent in and it still looks very clean; I don't drive in a very dusty environment.
