hey guys. im looking for nice mods for my baby.
mostly external. im looking at external roll cages and grills mostly but id like to know if theres any good cheap mods out there i can do myself?
i have my own welder and can do most mods without sending it to the shop.

Mods for what purpose?
For the engine?
Suspension?
Offroad?
Onroad?

I'm guessing, based on your other thread, that you're looking entirely for form, here? For expedition bling you need plate bumpers, a winch, an exo, limb risers, a snorkel, a hood scoop, a CB antenna, PIAA lights, a swinging tire carrier, a highlift and a gas can mounted on the bumper, and sand ladders mounted on racks on the sides.

Or, don't do any of that. I know you're young and appearance is important to you, but think about who you're trying to impress. If you want to be seen as a hardcore wheeler, start with the wheeling part, and add bling if/when you need it. Just a suggestion. Function over form, man.

on the cheap start with bj spacers and add a leafs then a 1in bl and some 33s, get yourself a good tow strap, doesn't matter how far you can make it in if you get stuck and cant make it out. investing in some hubs would not be a bad idea unless your plan on going sfa real soon. an external cage is going to add a lot of weight to Toyotas already sluggish motors but if you truly think you will roll it your best bet would be an interior roll cage.

That roll bar in the back is not the same as a cage. Its not even connected to the frame. It might help in a roll over, but its not the same and I wouldant depend on it.

I think you have a lot more reading to do. Go over to pirate4x4 and read around a bit in the toyota section. DONT POST. Not so noob friendly over there.

It's not that they're not noob friendly. It's just that if you go and ask some stupid question that can be answered by doing a little bit of research, then you'll get flamed. It is much easier to help someone when they try and do a bit of research and understand their problem a little more in depth.
