My Rhino bar did it's job

This is the 3rd times of my Rhino bar save me some bucks.

1st time I noticed the plastic part was gone after parking in NY city street. Probably somebody wreck it by doing parallel park. 2nd time was my g-f back up too fast and hit the fire host.

This time I was stop in traffic light and the driver behind me step on gas once she saw the green light. My truck was not even move and she wreck my Rhino bar. Lucky not a scratch on my bumper and only cost me $80 for another new one.

Yes, thanks for the pics....

If you have not already done so it might be a good idea to check out the mounting bolts for the hitch.
With a hit lit that they might not have broken but there could be signs of stress to the point of needing to be replaced.
Would not want to find out the hard way they were stressed when towing something and having the hitch come loose.

I also bought a Rhino Hitch step for just this minor type "insurance". Its easier and cheaper to replace the Rhino than having to fix rear end damage.

Luckily I haven't had a battle scars on my tr4 or hitch step, yet.

You saved your bumper and the lady who hit you saved her (or her insurance) company some money as well.

I have an ICI bar (similar to Rhino) on my Runner and have had several people ask me why. When I tell them it's main use is for this type of protection they nod and applaud the practicaliity.

I've been on the fence about buying a rhino bar. i have a tow hitch installed now even though i don't tow and it did save me once already. but i think i will be in the market now for a rhino bar. Thanks for sharing

wow, that was a serious hit, ive never seen one of those rhino bars up close but I assume they are not wimpy little things. looks like you got lucky, and it didnt just get pushed into your bumper. I have a tow hitch on mine all the time, i know it wont really save me like that will, but at least it will cause the other person to have more damage than I will have.

For the same reasons why I have one on my 4R. I didn't expect the step to hold up that well, but to keep people from tapping me when parking. Not to mention it's a great place to rest your foot when lacing up snowboarding boots.
