My TRD Pro Lift

I'm no expert, but I doubt it. I ran a 1" Cornfed spacer in the rear when I had Bilstein 5100s set at .85 in the front. My guess is the bigger the spacer, the more consequences that will potentially follow. Here's a nice little article on the interwebs:

Coil Spacers Vs. New Springs - The Need-To-Knows Before You Lift

Only you can decide what works for you. You have such a nice stock ride. Why not just enjoy it for a couple of years as-is?

Good luck.

A small spacer lift will be just fine for everyday A to B transportation. Plenty of people even wheel pretty decently with spacer lifts. Sure a setup from King, Fox, Icon, etc. . . are more advanced, but for what you're looking for they're a waste of money. I'm trying to justify Kings for myself right now since mine sees a fair amount of dirt and rocks, but realistically the 6112's and 2" Icon springs did me just fine on my last 5th gen. The money saved would go a LONG way towards a new steel rear bumper. 4k versus $1,300.

Thanks for the feedback. I feel more at ease about doing it. Now when it comes to lifts would a Cornfed 1/1.5 or a spring lift 1/1.5 be better? Out of those 2 choices which is better?

I hate to ask a stupid question, but I'll shoot anyway. I have my TRD Pro arriving next month and want to put on 275/70's with a mild lift. I've looked at the Toytec 2" lift and noticed they have the coils with it. I really love the look of OP's 1.5/1". I will only be doing mild offroading/exploring and camping. Is there any need for the coils that the Toytec lift includes?

Sorry for the slow reply everyone - it's been a crazy week.

I got my 275s put on yesterday.

I ran spacers on my 2006 SR5 for like 8 years and never had a single issue. However, on my 2006 SR5 I did notice that the ride got a lot stiffer, I had more body lean, etc. Overall I sacrificed ride quality but it looked a lot better so it was worth it to me. On my TRD Pro that is not the case whatsoever. I didn't notice a single change in ride quality, body lean, etc. It drives exactly the same so I wouldn't worry about it. However, I only did 1.5" in the front and 1" in the rear to give me a total of 2.5/1 because of the TRD Pro 1" already. My 2006 was 3/2 with a 1" body lift so the springs were compressed more which probably contributed to the change in ride quality. As long as you don't put huge spacers in there I wouldn't worry about the ride quality or issues with parts.

Here's an updated photo with 4 of the same sized tires lol. I love how this sits now!

Above is the 1.5/1 we sell, on the pro.

I can also do the 2/1.5 for a bit more lift. And NO, our kits do not need anything additional, no longer coils, nothing. This kit is made to work on the pro with nothing else needed.

Thought I'd show you guys a recent install of our 2/1.5 kit, on TRD pro stock wheels and tires.

Here is the rear le spring vs trdp, mileage varies a lot between the two but the front was sagging more than the rear for sure as we never really have any cargo in our vehicles nor continuous added weight.

toytech 2" spacer lift

Hey guys, just wanted to chime in on this. I have a 17 Pro with the 2" spacer lift. I have seen some threads where people leave the stock UCA's on, but from my experience I would upgrade those pretty quick. I ran the spacer lift with the stock UCA's for a few thousand miles and eventually upgraded to the TC UCA's. During the job I found that the passenger side ball joint had already gone out. Granted I do a lot of offroading, but that goes to show how much just a 2" lift can mess with the geometry underneath. Also, while you can get your alignment close with stock UCA's its not perfect and I had some side to side darting issues on the highway. Alignment is perfect now, and the highway driving is night\day IMO. I'll get some proper front coil-overs once my toyo warranty runs out in a few years.

Just food for thought for anyone on the fence with this. Happy wheeling!

I sold a ton of 2/1.5 kits for pro owners, with many having for over 3 years now, we came out with that one first, then we came out with the 1.5/1. We've had no issues with this.

Ball joint failure has nothing to do with 2" lift on a PRO, it would be best to recommend a UCA if factory alignment specs can't be met with the stock UCA. But, if a truck is very abused, that can effect ball joints.

Now, reality is, a lot speaks to the skill set of the alignment techs that do the really crappy work and call it "good enough". That could also be the case.

Jason, does the 1.5 inch spacer on the front TRD Pro coil replace the bottom perch? Thanks!

There are TWO spacers on each front assembly for any kit over 1". So the 1.5" has one spacer that mount on the top of the strut assembly, and another that go right under the top hat perch, that one is almost invisible. This design makes for the BEST RIDE QUALITY and still rides like stock.
