Funny you ask. My last one came from a FJ40, which was a bit pricey. This one came from a newer FJ Cruiser.

Did you buy the precut 4runner one? I see they have an option for $39.99, but not sure how well its cut. If its a nice cut, it would certainly make it easier.

I didn't. I've made a few of these and I was comfortable doing it with the sizes that I've purchased in the past. I didn't want to order it and be out if it didn't work quite the way I wanted it to.

Yes, I did, and it was fine for the deep style. Don't see why it wouldn't work for the flush type but can't be certain.

Awesome! Thanks for the tips. Ordered some mesh up from them, I went with the 12x48 sheet so I have some extra. Now to hope it turns out as nice as yours did!

A note about customcargrills I meant to mention - some have cited not wanting the small hex mesh as a reason not to get the precut 'Runner piece. That's indeed the default but they'll cut whichever style mesh you want to the 4Runner template.
With that said, aside from saving money, there's no huge advantage to using the template, it just roughly follows the shape of our particular grill.
I absolutely recommend the company. Superb communication and customer service, and will work with you if you want something that's not on the menu.
In other news that's sure to shock and appall many, I dipped my smoked chrome grill black recently...and peeled it a couple of weeks later. I'm going to say it publicly...I like the smoked chrome, probably because it really brings out the chrome outline on the TOYOTA emblem I used (Terri knows what I mean).

And this is kind of funny, but I had never noticed that the Sport headlights actually have the smoked chrome surrounds to match.
