n00b intro...

I didn't see an intro thread/forum anyplace here so thought I'd just intro myself. We just picked up an '08 sport edition V6 for my wife (btw, thanks for the advice of those who answered my earlier thread when we were shopping).

Got pretty much everything on it except leather, navi, and the upgraded A/V. After a road trip with the baby and dog this weekend, we both love the T4R and frankly have no complaints. Even averaged 22mpg on the trip!

No plans anytime soon to mod it or wheel it. This will be my wife's daily driver (she works 5 miles from home), and I already have an off-road rig. Anyhow, great forum here and hope to be a contributor at some point.

btw, if anyone has questions about Nissan sedans (Maxima/Altima), hit me up. I'm a moderator at maxima.org and can pretty much take one apart and rebuild it if needed!

I personally would love to: old-school raw 4x4 vs. all the new electronic fun. On better tires, the T4R would actually probably be better for everything except the most extreme stuff (where the unlinked front solid axle on the Jeep has an edge).

That said, I can see how that goes:
me: "honey, I'm gonna take the 4Runner off-roading"
her: "last I checked, you already have an off-road vehicle and the 4runner is mine"
me: "oh, yeah... "

maybe once I get her that classic mustang convertible that she has always wanted, then she'll let me, lol...

Hey welcome! In time you should squeeze another mile out of your v6. I know the avg cpu isn't as accurate as real world mpg's but it's nice rocking those 23.7's.

lol, that 22 included 45 minutes of gridlock on I-95, as well as about a dozen 80-mph passes of slower traffic on rural highways, which typically required a kick down into 3rd because of the short passing lanes out where we were. Plus a bit of goofing around in the woods and some cornfields.

Either way is fine with me...T4R 22mpg using regular unleaded? meh.....

my Maxima gets about 22mpg and has to use super unleaded beause of a 3* timing advance and other engine work.....and the XJ....well....in mostly city driving it gets 12-13mpg if I'm lucky...probably about 17-18 at best on the highway.
