I did mine less than a month after I bought it. No fading. No holes. All of them are on with adhesive.
 
Even if you took an 2003 4runner and debadged it now.. there wouldn't be any fading. Just remember to wax that area... and the panel and it will look fine.
 
Hahah... How about "Limited Sport V8 4x4" across the door and fender?

So has anyone with a Limited debadged their truck?
 
mine is partially debadged. I took off everything except for the 4runner sign on the back and I put the little "toyota" sign on the front grill...
 
Since my T4R is my wife's DD, I'm not doing anything to it. When I start driving it, the badges will come off. I didn't get it to be a billboard or brag about a trim level or engine choice. When I buy a new car, after the haggling, I tell them I don't want the dealer badge. If they insist, I ask them how much they will pay for advertising.

A hair dryer and a credit card do wonders for removing stickers.
 
I even got rid on the V8 badge.
Dental floss works great too.

Prior to the purchase of my '08 I was set on debadging it. However, now that I own it, the badges have grown on me. I think the only one I'd take off is the Toyota one on the lower driver's side of the rear tailgate, but I'll probably just leave them all on.
I'd LOVE to find a V6 emblem to put in the front grill like how the V8 grills come. I have pride in my V6! ;):

Only reason I havent done mine yet is because of time. I hate crap stuck on my vehicles. I told the dealer if they put a dealership sticker or badge anywhere on my vehicle the deal's off. Or they would have to take another 500 bucks off the price to pay me for advertising fees. They made sure when they detailed and prepped it while we waited, there was no dealer decal put on. They still put on the damn license plate borders and the big license plate filler on the front though with their dealer name, which I pulled off about ten mintues after we got it home LOL.

Debadging gets the clutter off the body. Gawdy chrome lettering stuck to the body attracts too much attention away from the overall shape and styling. Kind of like clear, untinted glass. Gives a cluttered look to a vehicle. Darkly tinted glass smooths out the view.

JMHO though......
 
I want to change my SR5 to TRD. I think it would look too naked if the sr5 wasnt there, but mine is hardly an sr5 anymore (leather, factory nav etc.)
I need to get some limited badges for the Ts and the Ds.

btw anyone want to sell thier limited badges... or thier ts and ds let me know! :)

how did u remove your badges?
i have 1996 dark green 4runner, any fading?
and if i want to put them back on, what do i need to use?
 
i like it debaged looks cleaner at least with the sports the lettering "SPORT EDITION 4WD" was just something that was to long to be on both doors if it was just one word like the "LIMITED"s have on the door then maybe i would have kept it. then on the back i took off word "TOYOTA" i figured toyota's are so popular that for most part people know the toyota symble then as of late I took my V8 lettering off my front grill and i want to put in the back under word 4 runner
