Napa MaxDrive CV Driveshafts

In August of last year I purchased both the left and right Napa MaxDrive CV shafts (NEW - not remanned) for my 4runner. As you can see the metal where the driveshaft attaches to the wheel assembly is rusting pretty bad on both sides. Has anyone else seen this? Pretty much all of the finish is gone. I am in Arkansas with no treated roads, just occasional rain. I have no rust anywhere on the underbody/frame except for the above mentioned.

Think I check on the "limited lifetime warranty" or just ride it out? Before you tell me I should have gotten OEM, I don't do any offroading. Just my DD. Thanks

Well it doesnt appear to be slowing down. Did you do anything to prevent it or just let it go? Dont know how big of a deal that is and how bad it will continue to rust.

Spray it was a rust inhibitor or swap it with the warranty or do nothing and swap it when it gets worse.

Or wheel it until you break it, then replace it.

It's surface rust - it's fine.

Surface rust is normal on cheap crap coated parts. Coat it or paint it if you want but its normal.

Its normal, mine are surface rusted. The boots will wear out before it rots through.

No I figured if the boots go and I replace my axles again with new I will pre spray them ...

Yea that's what happens with crappy parts that don't get coated. My remanufactured calipers looked like that after a month. Doesn't affect functionality.

Fluid Film. Spray it anywhere you see rust.
