i almost went the route of the new TRDPro rack. but quickly changed my mind on them.
i had a lead on a trail rack in Philly at one point but that fell thru quickly. Glad i found this one.

Took the wheels off and cleaned them for winter storage
Put the stockers back on for winter driving, truck looks so weird
Are the stockers really that much better for winter driving? I'd think the Coopers would be pretty decent in winter.
Comes with the territory owning a dark colored vehicle. Even after I wash the car I'm never truly satisfied with how it looks and TBH I have since stopped caring. My truck has enough paint dings and pin stripes as it is. Still, after a wash nautical blue looks beautiful and one of the best colors for this truck.

I've already got a few scratches that need touched up...they really stand out on the Nautical Blue much more than my last two vehicles which were Silver. Makes me a bit ill with only 4000 miles.
I do love this color right after I wash it. I haven't been able to wax it yet as it was in an accident 2 weeks after I bought it in August and got it back mid September. My body shop said no wax for 90 days so it's due now.
What else can be done to help protect the paint from scratches?

I know what you guys mean as it comes to keeping it clean. Dark colors are like this and there's not a lot we can do about that. Especially the hood and roof. They seem to be bird poop magnets and the clear coat seems thin so I get it off as soon as I can. I've probably waxed the hood alone 5 or 6 times since I got it in Feb. I love how it looks when it's clean though, the color is gorgeous in the sunlight.
Come the spring, I'm going to try one of the ceramic coatings and see if that helps make it easier to keep clean.

Most of my paint chips are in the front hood and plastic bumper covers. You could have a pro apply something like Xpel film to the hood and front. I'd suggest getting the hood, front, and maybe the rockers getting a clear film wrap to protect it.

They're not better per se, but I have the stock wheels for winter to help preserve the life of the Coopers and protect them from pot holes and sale which is all around this time of year

I'm in Muncie. I've ridden bikes there. I don't want to get crazy but how are the trails that we can hit with the 4Runner?
So this is all the forum will allow me to post for some reason, but here is our new-ish 2016 4Runner Trail Premium. 44K miles. This thing is badass. Fiance only wanted nautical blue, and it just so happens that every nautical blue for sale in Phoenix right now was a 2016. Found multiple with problems, the worst being another trail premium with 60K for a few thousand more, with 2 oil leaks and it was owned by a smoker. That was actually the very first 4Runner we looked at so it wasn't a good start. But then we found this one at a Lexus dealership. Unfortunately it had a slight patrack problem that had just begun, so damage was very minimal (chewed threw shielding of ground wire to drive fender). We are very pleased though and hope to have many, many years in this rig.
