Had a 2012 Silver Trail w/ KDSS. Upgraded to 2015 Nautical Blue w/ Redwood interior.

Mods so far:

• Front & Rear Mudflaps
• Michelin LTX MS2 275/55/R20
• Upgraded dash speakers to JBL 3/5"
• Husky Floormats - Black
• Plastidip all chrome
• HID 5300k - Low Beam
• LED 5300k - Fog Lights

Weather finally warmed up so I decided to plastidip most of the chrome. (Still need to do rack.) Hadn't seen another Nautical Blue Limited "de-chromed" so I thought I would post some pics. (Super, super easy)

Decided to plastidip the roof rack and the Limited emblem. They are in process.

Like all that you did here. Wish I had that idea. The Limited had way too much chrome in order for me to purchase. Great job

My trail kdss in natty blu!

TRD PRO front and rear suspension. Front has toytec top plate. Approx 2in lift. Rear just has arb spacers for now.

255/80 r17 cooper st maxx. Amazing tires got 12k mi and still plenty of tread. got 5 and the spare fit's perfect.

It's been to Colorado, California, and Nevada. Live in AZ so gets dirty often.

Plastidip on the bumpers. flexidip on the rims with clear.

Traded my 11 TE back in December. Swapped out interior lights for leds been working on blacking out emblems wheels and roof rack next. Weather been just nasty enough not to want to hang outside playing around.

Question for all the Nat Blue owners out there...... Any regrets on this color???

I'm torn between the nautical blue and the midnight black. I love this blue 80% of the time, but too frequently I see purple in certain lighting. I can't do purple and I'm scared I'd see too much purple after I've purchased it. Do you all see this with yours very often when the lighting changes?

Great looking rides here, I hope I don't regret my choice on this color either way!!!

Nope... I haven't noticed purple tint in certain lighting. Only thing I have consistently noticed is that it almost looks black in some areas in low light.

Love the color, I have never seen purple. The color looks sometimes black, very dark blue, or just blure, but never seen purple.

I have seen it look a blueish purple when in dim lighting and the light source is a vibrant yellow. However, that is obviously very rare. Most of the time, it looks blue or even black due to the color.

I like how the color is rare and isn't your conventional white or grey. The only warning I have for the color is that it is harder to maintain than my previous truck that was a beige color. It doesn't stay clean long and you can see some of the streaks in some lighting. Just gives me more incentive to maintain and keep it clean though. Given that you are also considering black, maintenance is probably not big issue for you.

Hey great feedback! Thank you all very much for contributing to my question. I had the dealer start looking for a Natty Blue non-KDSS TRD Off Road (formerly Trail) today. We'll see what they come up with. I can have black by mid week, but I'm going to roll the dice and see what they come up with. I already have my lift from the 4th Gen that I never got installed and I have picked out my tires and wheels when the day comes. Excited to be moving to a 5th Gen. Almost 40 years old and this will be my 9th Toyota, 3rd 4Runner and FIRST new car ever. That's why I'm overthinking the crap out of every last detail.

As mentioned, I understand this is a difficult color to keep clean and swirl free. First stop will be to get the paint ceramic coated. That will take priority over lift and tires.
