Nav/Radio turns off on its own - locks out.

Anyone have this happen? Everything shuts off and becomes unresponsive. The only way to turn back on is to shut off and restart. Did Jeep sneak into my car?

No. I'm still using a Galaxy s5 that's 3 years old.

Ours was doing that but an update from the dealer has completely fixed it. I was impressed by the dealer as well. They said if it does it again, they would order a whole new head unit.

Thanks. Kinda what I had thought regarding it being a software issue. I'll stop by the dealer and see if I can get a software update.

[MENTION=118321]Jetboy[/MENTION] , if you are willing to show us your music collection we can likely diagnose the issue. I heard the 4Runner doesn't like Beiber, Miley or Brittany and will protest accordingly.....

On a serious note, I have had that happen once but never again so I didn't worry about it. I would consider a trip to the dealer (maybe call first...) to see if they have updated software and document the issue if still under warranty.

I had the dealer do the software update on Friday. So far, so good.

Mine was crashing at least once a day prior to the update.

Happened to me a few times. Manual reset about 10x in a row and it won't do it for a while.

My radio didn't do that for the 1st 6 weeks I had the truck. Over the past 2 weeks or so, it either shuts down and becomes non-responsive (like in your video) or spontaneously reboots 2 or 3 times during my commute to/from work (a whopping 4.1 miles each way). I have the latest Entune software installed. I have the latest version of iOS installed. I've tried progressive troubleshooting -- all the way down to un-pairing my phone and just using the head unit to play FM stations -- still reboots or locks-down.

I'm done with it... my solution is arriving in the mail today... aftermarket stereo.

Sad thing is I actually liked the Entune system. It was pretty capable and easy to use.

Mine did this as well, updated and they eventually replaced the HU.
Bring the video when you go to the dealership....they will jump on the fix!
