Need advice: Keep or Sell? What is a reasonable sale price?

When my '02 sport was paid for I wanted to run it forever. Made it over 16 years before the weather got it at 189000 mi. Best vehicle I ever owned hands down, still got $6300 as an insurance total due to water lunching the computer and main wiring harness after a Nor-easter. Everything else was running like clockworks when the electronics died. My bride of 40 years always complained about the stiff suspense at low speed, but it could handle any road or weather condition. If you come back North, have the frame and undercarraige powerwashed and sprayed with a waxlike under coat like Amsoil HD, before the snow flies.

If it's paid for it will not lose much in value over time.

Hey brother, thanks for the advice. I grew up in Brunswick, ME so good to see another Mainah. Unfortunately, this 4Runner has never seen Maine but plan to vacation there after deployment.

FWIW...+1 on the keep it side...

with all that youve done to it, IF you have it just the way you want it...why sell it only to hope the next gen is close to what you would want it to be, AND to go thru all of the expense and work to get that next rig to what you want it to be.


Hold onto what youve built...and know its waiting for you when you return.

Just to clear up something though; the vehicle has been paid off for 2 years now and it's great not having a car payment.

With all of the great input, it seems most feel the way I do. I will likely keep the vehicle especially if the 6th gen is not up to par, I do not want to have any regrets.
