Need advice on taking this thing apart.

The transmission shifter housing in the center counsel.

Anyone know if it's possible to take the white part off without destroying it? There's no screws or clips I can see so I'm guessing it might be sonic welded on & therefore not removable. I'd like to get down inside the housing & give it a good cleaning. Or perhaps there's a better way of accessing the innards of this housing in order to clean it out?

You may have gotten farther taking this apart than just about anyone else. My advice is to use a toothbrush and small pick on whatever you can see. Use compressed air (or leaf blower) to get out as much dust and other stuff and then use a vac to get the rest. Most of this wont be visible and shouldnt get too dirty with all the coverings over it

it comes off, there's clips. i'm almost 100% positive i've done this. i think 4 or 6 clips then it slides straight up.
