Need Advice

Thanks for all the info. I need to go by a shop now and price the mufflers. Is the vortex the best from Cherry Bomb? I've also seen the glass and other ones.

vortex is going to sound the best with the deckplate

jason b also sells them on his website

For the deckplate mod, do I undo the efi fuse before beginning work?

To get the most out of the mod should I change the air filter? I'm looking at the K&N one and it's like $60. Are there any similar ones that are cheaper?

I have the K&N but it was in the 4Runner when I got it, so I can't really tell you if it made a difference or not. What I can tell you is that most on this site prefer the trueflow. I would buy one if I didn't already have this K&N.

Can I buy one of these at like AutoZone or a local autoparts store? They run about $50-$60? Are they all reuseable? Any advantages to be using reuseable?

Whatever did you conclude about the Tint?

I need to get the front roll ups done and am torn between "legal" and "matching to the back" is there a happy legal medium?

I decided that I might just tent to match the stock. This is the cheapest way and is probably legal.

If I find a job soon I am thinking go 20% all around except for the windshield. I want some security and want to block out the sunlight. I don't think 20% is too dark from what I have heard.

Yeah, that's probably what i'll end up doing too (20%) even though technically 20% is illegal here in La.

I have 35% "reflective" on my Civic and love it, its the best of both worlds, but only looks right on certain color vehicles.

Yeah. I think 20% is illegal in all states.

Well yeah, whatever. Doesn't really matter to me about other states. I normally don't waste time worrying about what everyone else is doing. ;):

If you ever go out of town it could be important to know what other laws are. :).

So why would you first say "match stock" which is determined to be in the 20% range and say "probably legal" then turn around and inform me that 20% is illegal in all states?

Which is it then? Not that it matters to me, i was already aware that 35% is legal "here" and i don't really go out of the state enough to worry about all that. If i did, i don't think i'd get much fuss over having 20% rather than 35% on my windows, unless the cop is a ****, i just would like to pass inspection each year or face the fact of having to peel it off and reapply it once a year.

In order to "peel and reapply" it is helpful to know if matching stock look is going to be "simple" or "complicated" and as such, i would make my final determination based on that info.

I would guess i'll probably just go with 35% since that's what i have on the Honda and it's ok enough. Not what i want, but better than nothing. America is great. ;):

Stock is NOT in the 20% range. If you match stock it is going to look like is was built that way and they probably won't hassle you about it.

To get all your windows tinted to 20% with a good film is about $250 up here. I'm not sure if you want to pay that each year.

If your happy with what you have on your Honda just use the same stuff on your 4runner.

Ok then, what does STOCK 4runner factory tinted glass measure at to compare in relation to regular aftermarket film tint for the front?

Secondly, i have reflective 35% on a white honda, all the way around, with no factory tinted glass, ok? The reflective tint offers a little more privacy than nonreflective tint does, and since i don't think reflective would look right on the front roll ups only with factory tinted glass on the back, i would like to match it with regular black tint (non-reflective or even a certain brand that matches? 3M?? Llumar?). But thanks for the obvious, captain. And yes, i would like to match front and rear, like i said in my first post on this thread. Doing so may or may not be "legal" and i know how to understand the law, ok? I just want to know what the factory tinted rear panel glass on a 4runner "is" so that i can know what will "match" on the front roll ups... What is so hard to understand about that sir?

You don't seem to know, you seem confused and your posting words are hard to understand.. Proofread much? I really don't need your smart comments after everything i post, i asked a simple question that an existing 4runner owner should be able to answer very simply if they've ever wanted to, get this, get matching aftermarket tint on the front roll ups to match the factory tinted back glass. You keep coming up with nothing but things that i didn't ask for, maybe someone else here actually knows?

I dont want to tint "the whole 4runner" i want to match the front roll ups, which are currently untinted, to the rear factory tinted glass. Get it yet?

Just don't worry about answering if its that difficult to comprehend.

Your the person who posted in MY topic. If you wanted a better answer you should have made a NEW topic. I'm sorry if your English classes down there in LA aren't that great, don't blame me.

I've looked into the comparision between factory tint and aftermarket and could not find an answer.

If I remember right, reflective tint is illegal. I think you would get pulled over for reflective tint before you got pulled over for being a little too dark.

I didn't mean for any of my posts to degrade you, but apparently you took them that way.

Bye.

Well, you're wrong. Again.

Reflective is not "mirror" for starters. And yes, it's legal because i've had it for 9 years and had it tested many times during inspection, and passed every single time, 35% you bozo. So what, am i a liar now too? I'm sorry your reading skills never panned out. I got plenty of proof of my education level, you judgmental, stereotypical moron. ;): Keep thinking that bullshit cause that's all you are i guess.

Sorry to post in your thread, with a question already asked, i guess you don't understand all that. This is your precious thread, sorry to comment publicly in a public forum. ;):

You're just an idiot who can't read and comprehend, and you can't even answer your own contradictions when called out on it. Probably because you're a b.s. artist like i mentioned already.

I don't need your answers, i'll figure it out on my own like i always do. I thought i could try to integrate into this forum by asking some relevant questions, being a new owner, to existing owners who've encountered my issues before, i would assume.

I got you figured out now, so just shut your mouth already, shit for brains.

I hope you feel better now. I'm not going to stoop down to your level because you just proved what kind of a person you really are.

Good luck.

Yeah, making cracks about me being from Louisiana (and subsequently uneducated) is such a moral high ground to stand on.
