Need help from SoCal member with TRD PRO Wheels

I live in San Francisco and looking to upgrade my brakes to a big brake kit by Rotora. I plan to supercharge my Pro when TRD release the supercharger kit.

Coming from a boosted URD supercharger kit on my X-Runner, and TRD big brake kit, I love the way the brake feels. It stops on a dime compared to factory.

Yea yea, most will say its a waste of money but o'well!

Rotora needs a TRD PRO wheel to test fit their big brake kit so they just need someone who is willing to swing by to let them do some measurement. In return they are willing to give you a discount on a brake kit if you are interested.

Rotora is in the Irwindale area, so if any one can help me out that be great. Message me for more details. I will give you the contact information.

TIA!

They slapped a big brake kit on a 4R with Volks, but I need to see if they fit under stock TRD PRO wheels.

Are those photos of an actual installation on a 4runner or photoshopped? Not interested in the kit but it seems in the 1st photo the rear wheel has the same configuration for the center "cap" that normally is only on the front of the 4runner. The last photo shows the rear how I would expect?

And those Volks are 18" wheels (upper right on tire in 2nd shot). As far as I know the TRD Pro Wheels only come in 17".

I understand PRO only comes in 17, that's why I need someone to pass by Rotora (if possible) so they can test fit/ take measurement to fit their brake system.

It will clear the volks definitely because it is larger and the spokes go outward to clear the BBK.

Cool. I guess I'm just old school enough to associate Big Brakes with Big Wheels. I know there are multi piston calipers out there to get more clamping force, but I also thought you needed more disc area to really make them work. Do their kits also come with master cylinders to handle the additional pressure generated?

I believe most bbk will work with stock master cylinder. My TRD BBK on my Tacoma worked with my stock master.

Just spoke to Rotora...they did an install on the 4Runner. See pic.

So Cal brake/wheel measurement

Do you plan on taking your 4Runner to the track?

Never understood BBKs on SUVs, especially ones that roll.

Please explain the roll tendency. If I recall the reviews correctly, they say the T4R needs some correction on hard braking from freeway speeds. I don't know from experience, just what I've read.

I live really close to Irwindale but I won't have my new 4Runner TE for another 10 to 12 weeks. The dealer just revised my order after learning I couldn't order it without NAV. A reorder added two weeks to the wait time.

So what does this brake system cost and what kind of discount are they offering?

Can they give you an out to out measurement? Maybe you need to go with 18" rims and larger tires?

why does everyone with a 5th gen seem to want to SC theirs?

I've got < 160 hp at the wheels and manage to get by.

The 5th gen is far far more powerful than our 3rd gens yet the 5th genners don't seem satisfied at all with their stock hp.

Boost is a drug, once you experience it, you will know why! :bounce:
