Need help identifying plugs in engine bay again

Once again I’m here to ask for help. I can’t figure out where these two plugs go. They are on the 2wd auto harness I pulled out so I know they went somewhere.

The 4Runner runs fine except for a CEL for camshaft position sensor, no speedometer or temperature sensor. Any help is greatly appreciated

That one 4 pin plug has to be the one that runs right behind the camshaft cover on the passenger side that does go to the camshaft sensor. The other one I'm not sure.

The small 2 pin looks like an ABS wheel speed sensor plug, would explain the no speedometer.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but how could I disable ABS without disabling my speedometer?

You can't, without some modifications. You need to add a speedometer sensor to the rear output of the transfer case, and wire it up to the gauge cluster (which then sends that signal to the ECU).

Non-ABS 4Runners and all 1st gen Tacomas are wired this way, so there are factory parts you can use/get.

Hmmm. I disagree. I simply removed the fusible link for the ABS system and that did the trick. I have a permanent ABS light (unless I remove the bulb) but otherwise no other side effects. I have 1996.

That disables the ABS Relay and ABS Actuator. The ABS ECU is still fully powered and working - which is what is still running your speedometer.

So, I suppose that counts as disabling... but it doesn't work once you start doing things like removing ABS wheel speed sensors, etc.

Looks like my abs plugs are plugged in. Still not sure where it goes. Hoping someone can cross reference to theirs. Anybody? I’ll send you a pizza if you can figure out my speedo issue and this plug.

How would I go about diagnosing the speed sensor?

Probably the EFI (engine temp for the ECU) temp sensor.

One is blue, the other is black and yellow. ‘97 harness 4wd manual

I tested both of my front ABS sensors with my multimeter and they both stayed at about 1650 which is good ive read. Couldn't check the back i was having trouble getting the wires down. I have a feeling it is something to do with that one plug but i can't find anything on it anywhere.

I'll offer again, a pizza to whoever cross references and helps me fix my issue. I'll throw in breadsticks too. I'm desperate here

I also have no codes relating to ABS at all, only the light. My camshaft code went away after i plugged it in but now I'm getting 3 codes for misfires but i dont hear or feel anything

Most scan tools will not retrieve abs codes usually you need an specific scanner for abs, can that be why you’re not getting codes?
