Need Help on Tweeter Replacement

It looks ok , I use the Rattle Trap 80mm thick and a lot less expensive than Dynamat you can get it on eBay or Amazon or direct
 
What would you suggest on where to place the dampening material? I figured inside the door frames already, but should I do the the outside too along w/ the door panels and where the speaker housings connect to the door frame?

As a newbie in car audio w/ very limited funds, I want to get the best bang for the buck.
 
Yes all the above , the inside of the door around the driver and the outer door , a good rule of thumb is to use about 10 sq ft per door ... I used 25 sq ft per door on my FJ

Dynamat is just too damn expensive and was looking at SecondSkin but they were pretty pricey as well. Thought of purchasing the NVX line of sound deadening materials but I missed out on their Black Friday sale when their 90mil was going for $90 for 36 sq feet. I know that there's an $8 dollar difference but when you factor in the taxes, anything over a $100, wifey will be pissed lol

Oh also, I'm trying to purchase that Raam Mat and sound deadener in the classifieds but the seller hasn't responded. For $40, can't beat it

So I just realized that the audio guys that installed my wife's stereo and speakers also put a fuse holder near my battery. Long story short, I guess the fuse blew in the fuse holder and I basically stopped hearing music in my vehicle. Luckily I was on my way to their shop for something else unrelated to get fixed.

My question is this, how many amps should I use for the AGU fuse and what brand should I purchase or is any brand good enough as long as the rated amps are there? The installer said to use at least a 100 amp fuse so I don't blow it again. What do you guys think? first off, what amp is installed? have to determine what is installed first, also what is causing it to short, check all connections, also the agu fuse is not a good fuse these days, the solder inside of it tends to fail, thats why i use only mini anl or anl fuse. but if you must use agu fuse, replace with the same one, i doubt you need 100, depending on the amp you have installed 40 amp 50 amp or 60 amp will be fine.

I'm running Rockford Fosgate Prime R400-4D. As for the fuse, they installed it when I had them install my wife's system in her Sequoia. And thanks for the info [MENTION=5149]riceandpho[/MENTION].

Oh, also, does it make a difference if it's gold, platinum or nickel plated? Thanks.
 
50amp is the recomended fuse, dont worry about gold or platinum, i personally use gold, but the other is fine, 50 amp is fine and even 60 amp is fine too. if for some reason the previous fuse blew, its either a short somewhere or just a bad fuse. thats why i wouldnt put that 100amp they telling you, no need for the 100amp.

Thanks. If I was to switch to an ANL fuse holder, same amp for the fuse or can I go higher?

Bassik 2 Way 4 Gauge Fuse Distribution Block - Merchandise
just get this , you have the option to add accessories or another amp down the road. if you switch to anl fuse, use the same 50 amp or 60 amp, there is no need to use 100 amp. first you need to figure out why the old fuse blew, was it a short or loose connection, or it was overloaded. putting a 100amp fuse will not protect your amp or car.

The installer didn't tell me much other than the fuse blew due to it being cheap. According to him, the fuse he gave me is a better one and rated at 100 amp. He also gave me a new AGU fuse holder saying that the one that was installed is cheap. As for the new ANL fuse holder that you showed me, is it waterproof as I'm afraid that it might short if it gets wet, especially since we've had so much rain in Cali as of late.

its fine, aslong the water dont reach the location, i still take that 100amp fuse out and use 50-60 amp fuse, i think what he was trying to say he sold you cheap shit lol. but agu fuses tends to fail due to the bad solder on the inside. thats why i recommend using anl type now. the fuse block i showed you should be no problem.
