Need help: Smoker's kit 2nd outlet has no power

So I recently bought the Smoker's Kit to have the extra 12v outlet. I installed all the plugs and the lights come on, but there is no power on the second outlet (the cig lighter). I've checked all the connections, tried using it with the engine on, etc but no power. I'm trying to figure out if it's the kit itself or the adapter from my 4runner. The 2nd plug itself wasn't messed with before and was taped to the cable before I used it.

Check your inside fuse block. You may need to install a fuse.

I was thinking that too, but the lights turn on (ring around the cig 12v and inside the ash tray) so there is power going to the 2nd cable. Unless there are separate fuses for that one cable.

Lights are a seperate circuit/fuse.
Check your CIG (10A) fuse location.

would that be fuse outlet be in the fuse box in the engine bay or in the fuse box under the steering wheel?

Thanks for the info, you were exactly right. The fuse was missing!

Also, is it ok to use a 15A fuse instead of a 10A? The regular 12V socket uses a 15A fuse.

I'd use a 10A if that's what the circuit diagram calls for. You do NOT want to overload the wiring and the ciggie lighter is a significant current draw.
