Need Help with Driving Lights

I got my switch today from the dealership. $17 with tax. Pretty expensive if you ask me.

How are you supposed to attach wires to the prongs on the back?

In this picture I see some plastic pieces that fit over the prongs. Do those come with the lights?

You can buy those at an auto parts store. You strip off some of the coating off the wire, thread it through the hole into one end of the connector, use needle-nose pliers to crimp the wire into the connector [or solder] and voila. (not sure of its exact name, but check the fuse/replacement light section of your local auto parts place to find them - you'll notice them when you see them. Or you can probably grab a bag of them at Radio Shack.)
 
that plastic piece is just a protection cover i guess so no metal touches metal when switch is on. u can use electrical tape instead of that plastic if you wanted. but from the pictures. it looks like a socket type. all u do is strip some of the wire, crimp down the end connector and plug into the rocker switch.
 
lights

the head lights on my 99 are so bad i have to drive with baja lights.
are others like that or just bc it was wrecks?
thinkin about getting 10,000, HID bulbes.
 
I ended up getting the 700s today. I'm going to start working on the conversion early tomorrow and hopefully get them mounted and everything.

I was looking at the wiring diagram and got a little confused.

Right now there is a blue and black wire coming off the back of the lights. Since I'm doing the conversion I should be getting rid of those. I haven't looked at the HIDs, but I'm assuming they have a ground.

How am I going to connect the HID lights to the Hella harness?

There is a green wire with the Hella kit. I'm pretty sure that goes with the switch, but where does it go from there?

It'll probably be easier when I go to lay it out tomorrow, but I just thought I would throw those questions out there.

Ok. I've spent a LOT of time working on these lights over the past three days. I finally have them converted and mounted. I have them wired too, but apparently I wired them wrong.

Is anybody good with wiring or willing to try and help me out? I would really appreciate it.

I wired up my 4 kc's myself. Not an expert by any means, but maybe could be of some help? Whats the problem?
 
Ok. I'll try and explain it as best I can.

To start off I have Hella 700s, but I converted them to HIDs. So each light has a blue and black wire. I'm not exactly sure which is power and which is ground.

I used the Hella harness. The harness has a yellow, blue, black, and red wire. I have the yellow going to the switch. Red is to the battery. Blue is grounded. And black is going to the lights.

I have a stock illuminated Toyota fog light switch. The top prong is grounded. The bottom is connected to the yellow relay wire. The middle prong has a green wire on it. The green wire runs from the switch to the battery.

That set up didn't work so I switched the green and yellow and all that did was make the light stay on constantly.

I have the black wire from the relay connected to the blue wire on one light and black on the other light.

I did that so I could get at least one to work, but neither worked.

I'm kinda stuck.

x2. I spliced my green wire into my AC power. I first had it attached to my battery, then realized my toyota switches were always illuminated. Now my lights only have power when I turn the key to "acc", or turn the truck on
 
Both the red and green wires have inline fuses in them. What makes the fuse different than a constant power source such as the battery?

When I had green wire in the middle and yellow on bottom, the switch only came on when I flipped it.
 
On the three sets of hellas I've had blue has always been ground and black power. You can run both blue wires coming out of the lights to a common ground then the black goes to one pole(which one I don't know) of the switch.
