Need Help with Driving Lights

That diagram is exactly how I have my front ones wired, except instead of tapping into the high beams I went to the battery. I didn't want those lights coming on unless I flipped the switch on...but I'm thinking about redoing it now and tapping the high beams...its really pretty straigtforward, but I'll admit the first time I did it I was confused...

EDIT: I looked a little closer at the diagram Elton posted and it doesn't mention the high beam tap...so nevermind that part!

Hmm...if my grounds are all good, then I'm gonna just check all the connections on the switch. I may have the ground on the wrong prong. I didn't have time the other night because it got dark so early.

I finally got around to working on the lights again. I just started looking at stuff and came to the inline fuses on the red and green wires. I took the red one out, everything looked good. Took the green one out and all that was there was the glass part, no metal piece inside it. Gotta go pick up a new one now.

I just assumed the whole time that the fuses would be good since they came straight from Hella.

good call. replace those fuses and see if they light up! let us know man been wanting to see those HID conversions!

...no luck. Put in a new one, tested all the different wire combinations on the switch and ended up blowing another one.

Going to check the grounds now.

Where did y'all connect the switch ground too?

As far as I can tell all of the grounds are good. I took pictures of all the connections so that y'all might be able to help me more.

I personally think the problem is a bad relay.

Ballast has both sets of wires going to it:

Wires from ballast. One grounded, one connected to the black Hella wire:

I know it's hard to view this picture, but it's where I have my switch grounded. The location is on the firewall, under the steering wheel:

I'm positive that my switch ground is good. I took it off and the switch wouldn't even light up.

I've also tried reversing the connections on the ballast and that didn't work either.

Is the relay supposed to make a clicking sound when it's on?

I bought a new relay today. Tried it out and they didn't work. I noticed that the wiring diagram for the new relay had two of the wires switched compared to the Hella relay.

I made a little diagram to show how I have everything wired:

Success!!!

I took my car to a shop and had them look over it for about 20 minutes. They found a bad ground.

This one:

I moved it to the other side of the bracket and it worked.

But...I have another problem. Only one light works. I've tried them about ten times and only once have both of the lights come on. I'm pretty sure one of the ballast is bad. I switched the ballast and the opposite light worked.

Gotta get in touch with the company and have them send me a new ballast now. I'll be happy when all this is finished.

sweet man! glad it was just a ground. The ballast should just be more annoying then anything, they should send you a new one.

After messing with some stuff tonight I've got both of the lights to come on three times in a row. I'm hoping everything is good.

These puppies are BRIGHT.

I'm going to aim them tomorrow night and hopefully take some pictures.

How do y'all have yours aimed?

turn them on about 5 feet away from your garage..then u can see if both are level or not.

Yep. Should have some by tonight. I aimed them way down last night. I'm trying to figure out if there is too much glare to use them all the time.

Did you aim them level with your headlights?

I'm thinking I should aim them a little lower.

i aimed them stright ahead just like the headlights. if you aim em down, you wont get the distance you want at night. and with your HID conversion..if you want the maximum possible distance, aim stright ahead. if you aim down you'll be loosing its potential distance
