Ok so I'm installing my trans cooler in the morning. I plan on completely bypassing the radiator. I have the cooler just need to get the hose. I have the B&M 70264

question #1
Ive read i will need 8 feet of 3/8 and I've read 11/32, what one is correct?

question #2
Ive also seen where some people mount with the barbs up , barbs down, barbs sideways . What is the correct orientation ?

Question #3
If question #2 is sideways is the top or bottom the return to trans and inlet from trans?

I made mines with barbs to the side but inlet top and outlet bottom, made more sense to me that it would flow thru the top hose and travel down the fins instead of flowing up the fins if you get what I mean, and 8ft of 3/8 is fine, my cooler already came with about 4ft I just purchased and extra 5ft and that was more than enough,

Sideways mount, but outlet needs to be at the top. Otherwise fluid will pour into the top, trickle through and run right out the bottom hose without filling all the passages to capacity.

Exactly. This is why outlet needs to be on top.

Ok that clears up the orientation and outlet on top that makes sense. so what about the size of hose? :playball:

3/8 Id trans hose will likely be difficult to get on the trans side.

Its not a perfect fit as the trans side is actually 10mm and 3/8 is slightly less than 10mm. Its a pain in the d depending on what hose you buy. Blue an hose is what I ended up using.its not so rigid and you don't have to fight the trans side.

Okay went with 3/8 line worked pretty good all done

Just got mine in the mail yesterday had a question hopefully not too dumb. How did you block the lines in the radiator that the trans was originally connected to?

I just ran a piece of trans line from the inlet to the outlet after blowing all of the trans fluid out of the radiator trans cooler.

What are the requirements of the cooler? Are they spec'd in size, capacity, what?

Can I buy one on ebay, or do I need to get at the local parts store? How much should one cost?

Thanks,
